Subject: The Big en the little player

2009-12-09 07:13:16
Mine too, but I think that it could be a big advantage. A keeper who can really scramble is invaluable. Getting out to loose balls in the box, cutting the angle for opposition strikers, moving post to post to make saves. If you think about it, keepers move so little, and in such a limited area, that they are always accelerating and not at top speed - and ours are going to get as big an increase in acceleration as possible. Even a divine paced keeper almost never gets past brilliant pace before he gets to the ball or the shot is taken. So a short keeper may not need to train past brilliant pace to be as fast as any other keeper for an example. That may change the way that keepers are trained. Short keepers should now be trained more in keeping and less in pace, while tall keepers would be the opposite.

In RL nobody with 144 cm run faster than somebody with 170 cm. That heigh is ridiculous.

And it´s the same in Sokker - the final pace depends on pace skill. Just the smaller players have better acceleration, which is logical and makes total sense. Usain Bolt has never been good at start. But his final speed is so much better, that he wins. So is in sokker. Slower might get better start, but if the faster and taller player is good enough he gets that guy.

This maybe belongs to a different forum, but I'll post it here anyways. I'm thinking of selling my tallest player and I wonder how much the players height will influence the price. He has a talent between 4 and 4,5 documented. Any suggestions?

I don't think pace for keepers are the same for the other players... a divine pace keeper never will be as fast as a field player. Anyway, this thing could be fixed on the engine, I don't think they're going to be many difference between the last season and the next

Why would anybody know the answer to that? We haven't had a game with the new height yet!
