I have youth school have it 10 years allready...

Just made some calculations and my youth school have cost me (places and trainee salary) 38,5 million during these 10 years


From forum I found that, from own youths 24.1.2011 i had got 51mln€ and after that day I have got 27,5 from youth players so sum is 78,5 mln€

also I have 2 youths in my team who are worth of 10-15mln € together


Also it's allways nice to wait talented high level youth...

So for me youth school has been very profitable

yep ! there are more than 58 teams without youth school , that is only those who has answered to the pool.

I have my school since june 2006, I do not want to see the profit of this "school", because i keep the better players for my team, this is a choice.

I think, that, this is an error to call it School, because, in school you learn.
so if I put a player as DEF, he must learn DEF skills, with the present school, the teacher ( the coach) has to predict which is the real post of the student,
sometimes the youth is not as he thinks, we have seen some GK in school, when he is promoted to see some skills good in pace and pass, but with a GK skill at unsatisfactory or less ??? so that is a pity to not have more info on youth in school or for not act to improve their skills, so, for now the randomizing in school is too important.
this is random for number of new youth on saturday, for the skills, for the advance of the youth,and for the skills at the promotion.

unfortunatly I'm sure that we have to do with that. difficult no?

youth school is great, but need time for earn money. Everybody want money right now.

I have a youth school and with 20 spaces and a magical coach, but the last 2 years (not 2 seasons, but 2 years) only 1 youth member reached a skill higher than outstanding.
You guys have any tips?

Don't fire juniors too early. The most important attribute is not junior age, exit week or base skill level. It is his talent and You need a couple of weeks to check how good is it. And that's all, the rest is luck, I believe.

ok thanks. do you have any specific protocol you follow...for example how long do you keep a player before sacking him so you can determine the talent correctly. and what is the lowest skill you still decide to keep (for a specific age ofcourse).

I don't have. It is usually the hunch. Those protocols are kept in my head and they change dynamically because I do not remember how the "protocol" looked like previous time.

I think 10 weeks is long enough to determine if talent is above or below average (it is still usually how often player pops).
I may also suggest keeping small number of juniors (like 15 for example) to use all of them in juniors matches.

Regarding juniors age an skill level It is difficult to determine which to sack instantly. I usually check what will be if junior talent is about 3,5 and then if it looks bad (20-formidable, 19-excellent, 18-solid, 17-adequate - I came up with those numbers ad-hoc, never thought about them to improve the "protocol") the I sack him. But sometimes even then I do not sack junior (if I have not many juniors).

And I must say that I didn't have many brilliant and better juniors. However at least 7 of them played in Poland U21 or/and senior team, which I consider very good result for such strong and full of great players country.

Also, the player below may be an example what You may lose if You underestimate the junior. He is not some kind of football god of course, but solid player for sure. He came to youth school with unsatisfactory [2] level at age 17 (as far as I remember) and he was about to exit at late 18 (almost 19). That didn't look promising. However, I decided to kept him. I don't remember his exit level but now he looks like this (like I said not a god but decent player; at least for me):

Youht school need time.

I had great youth bobrik(17y) and konrad(16y) but long time(4-5 season) have not come good youth.
