Semifinals - Schedule
2019-08-16
18:29 Türkiye - France
22:00 Brasil - Suomi
Some notes:
The XVII edition broke a certain taboo that was since 2016, since edition XII... There was a final with at least one of these 3 teams. (România, Polska and Česká republika)
Since 2016 this Iron Trinity has dominated the U21 scenario but there is always a time that ends, even if it is for only 1 edition.
Well... the last time happen a U21WC final that do not have one of these 3 teams? December 18, 2015...
The XI edition have a final with België against Schweiz, the legendary rivalry of Pavoniana vs Woody that ended in penalty kicks decision and was winning by België, making this be his 1st of 2 U21 World Championships.
Now, the 4 teams that will playing this semifinals, France and Türkiye was already U21 World Champions with 1 gold trophy for each one, Suomi reach 2 times the U21WC final but lost it and Brasil never reach the U21WC final, losing 2 times in the semifinals.
The 2 times Brasil lost in semifinals, the team that beat Brasil ended as a U21 World Champion. (Polska in edition VIII and België in edition XII)
There may be a rematch of the final that occurred in the edition IV, France faced Suomi in that final and winning the match with a result of 1:0.

A great tournament for Brazil in this edition. Against anyone else I would’ve cheered for you guys but now I’m just super happy for westbrom and our small community! As I said a week ago to fabbro, congrats for the bronze medals. Now it has to be Suomi’s big year!
As I said a week ago to fabbro...
LOL thank you thank you! :D
Good luck for the final :)

Good luck for the final :)
A medal is always hard to get in these games, especially if you’re not coaching one of the ”BIG-3”. And today it could’ve gone either way. We were really efficient scoring three goals from maybe 4-5 chances. Happens really seldom for us, hopefully the guys will keep this form next week also, instead of going back to the regular 10% efficiency.. Anyway well done and maybe next time it’s the time for Brazil to go one step further?! :)
Who knows, first we should see if they will not fire me before next season :)

Well, it was either you or me and if those are the options, I’d pick 100/100 times you to be sad.. ;)
Sorry Brasil, but congrats for the bronze medals! You have done Woody great job with this guide.
I like to see the weaker teams get to the top and play for something that will be better for them than ever.
Fabbrogas was good that halfway through took a national team like Brazil and in a short time managed to manage it.
So I congratulate you both and good luck.
