Yup, there's some hype going on I don't really understand either, I'd prefer a 5x16 midfielder any time of the day. Even for a off MID position.

You're showing me a match from 2014 :)
A lot has changed since then , now the strikers do all the job, they have the assists, they score the goals, it was a time when a good winger had 3-4 assists every match , now you don't really see that too often
2017-02-20 13:21:28
Yeah, 5x16 all the way, 4 main skills plus defending....striking is for the strikers

We're going to end up in that situation where we will train striking for defenders, hoping that we'll find some Sergio Ramos or Hummels

What you've showed me is a striker with side skills :)

Or you want to tell me that you would play that in the midsection ?

imho offensive MID players can be crucial in some tactical situations eg when strikers are covered by defs or offside
i even prefer to give them ATT order so they will get more balls when they are free.

if such player strikes even 2-3 times in a match is still 2-3 chances to score so in my opinion they need to have striking skill as high as possible even if it means in lower other skills like defending, passing or pace

So what if 2014, same ME as now....

And i wouldnt mind playing such player as a classical 10 no..... but he is more effective as a winger cutting into the box... :)

And that is whole this debate, you see them as CM/DM.... i see them as multiskill strikers/wingers.... :) If he wanted top notch CM/DM, he could have got it at 5-8 m eu less...... :)

Pacalici is clearly a striker with side skills, played with mid order in a position that you usually find strikers

mids with striking can be useful too , but in a game you only need one of this kind , and 2-3 cm with defending...try playing a game only with midfielders with striking and no defending , you'll probably score a lot of goals but receive as many, maybe even more , you'll get the ball only in your own half , don't expect a midfielder with 9 def to take the ball from a unearthly- divine technique
2017-02-20 20:31:15
So you wanna tell me that you would sacrifice passing or playmaking training for striking training for mids ? :)

That's really odd, this is why we call them main skills and secondaries , main skills for a midfielder are pace, technique, passing and playmaking , and secondaries are defending and striking
I would never train striking for a mid, unless he is 5x divine at the other skills

But you still dont get it, we dont call them CM´s, or see their future there.... and nobody talked about playing them as CM.........

Pacalici isn't a striker. He a off-mid with striker, passing, playmaker. Great combo!

20m€ for CM/DM? No. It's overpaid. CM/DM with this skills can you have about ~8-10m€.

If you paid for striker, you should train striker :P

I know what a winger looks like mate, but I would call a waste of time to train barbez and Napoleon striking in the future, when they can clearly be better cm or dm , considering the fact that their defending is better than striking

So you're telling me that a 5x16 midfielder with 16 striking is twice as much as a 5x16 midfielder with defending instead? I don't know what to say about that

This is not real football my friend, you won't see any Messi , Alexis Sanchez or Arjen Robben in sokker, these so called midfielders with a lot of goals are played where you usually put the strikers, and that's really high , of course they will have a lot of chances to score if the tactic is good and they have high technique and playmaking, but in the same time, you won't find too many situation where a midfielder will dribble 4-5 players and score, this is not real life, this engine is made so even an average defender can disposes a decent striker from front, not to mention a midfielder

They're not twice as much. But much more dificult to find on the market. So the prices are higher.
If you can have one or even too on your team it's a great bonus and more tactical possibilities.
I guess nobody is saying that you should only have them instead of def-mids on your team. :)
And I agree that paying 20 mln euros to train only def-mid skills on a player is a waste of money. The player won't be as special as it could be. It would be a fantastic player, but not the last cherry of the cake, as it could be with a high striking skill
