So I have been scouting and noticed some BOTS have been getting new youths, and I'm wondering why this is the case.

I couldn't be bothered checking the detailed history of them all, but one I saw, suddenly got a new keeper.

Looking at the last match prior to that keeper, there had been someone playing (getting 2 stars) as a keeper, but now they no longer exist, and a new (not previously in the lineup) 20yo keeper is in the spot (the reserve keeper at number 12, is still at number 12).

There must be a reason for this, and I'm hoping someone can say why (btw this person made the team in 2015, so has been bot for a long long time)

youth players who are ready to promote will promote automaticly to first team at the age of 20 if not promoted by hand before that age.

Yeah I thought that may be the case. But that would still only explain getting added to a squad, not the starting lineup.

I was talking to cometer (ex sokker mod), and he said at one stage it was talked about players in bot teams getting retired once they hit a certain age, to stop the continued decline in skills. If this were the case, they would be replaced by a random junior in the spot they were taking, or else there would be a lot of walkovers.

It's a possible explanation, although the most surprising thing about it would be the devs implementing anything

I've got an example which does not fit into this explanation though:

This team is a bot for a long time as well: https://sokker.org/players/teamID/3769
- The youth team has the maximum amount of 30 players, all of them aged 30...33, those players were not automatically promoted
- So the same 30 players must have been in the youth team 12 seasons before. That means there was no free slot for any other youth player for at least 12 seasons
- Yet, the senior squad has 4 players aged 21 and 22. Where do they come from, when there were no free youth slots???
- Two of them are even in the starting lineup

Yeah, this is why I believe what cometer said to be true. Senior squad players who hit whatever the age limit it (not sure what would happen if they had very old players prior to going bot but that's another issue), spontaneously combust and get replaced by a younger player in their same position in the starting lineup.

It's not logical for a botteam to have a youth team...
It should be canceled at the start of the team becoming a botteam...
Also the trainers should be fired and the tactic should be reset to default 4-4-2

I think something may have been lost in translation as I haven't said they have a youth team or that they use a tactic created by the previous owner.

I agree with you that they would just have a default tactic and no youth squad.

Why there are so many chinese people in the world and only few play sokker? I think this is a good question...
