you should look at flows and stocks in different ways..
a "poor" is often someone who works (or get another type of wage).. not someone that has money..

so the question is how inflaction affects (for example) workers wages?
the answer is not so obvious.

If you have millions then by inflation you loose more. But when you have $400 per month, then every price change hits you more like if you have millions and loose a million.
That is the point here.
Not speaking about what actually an inflation is and what creates it.

the point you miss is that inflaction hits wages (prices of work) aswell...
in fact in the long run (at certain conditions, to be completely honest!) inflaction acts as a redistribution mechanism from rentiers to workers..
