But you can have 4 talented striker and no talented defender. Then you need to trade (maybe less than in Sokker, but is that really a bad thing?). Then there is the salary part: you cannot keep your 5th talented striker to be the sub of the sub while paying him star wages. In fact, ideally you should not be able to keep too many good players if you don't achieve some sport success or otherwise manage to have high income (it is important for winning to be a major source of money in any case). This is how UM manage to keep it under control, and it worked quite well (no, the market wasn't small because everyone kept training its own players, but because there were so few teams that there was barely anyone to trade with).

I mean, there's nothing wrong with Barça keeping Xavi, Iniesta, Messi forever. But if you have Xavi and Cesc and Iniesta, and then Thiago comes along, maybe you cannot keep him as well and you end up selling him and bringing Suárez or Bravo or whatever you are missing. And if you are Sevilla you sell Rakitic whether you have better or not because you just can't compete in salaries. I think that's the only mechanism we need to have, otherwise the focus shifts too much to eBay and away from football :P

and that's the way we'll have big team growing bigger and little teams condemned to reamin little.

About UM: their economy was fantastic, I got a 9.3 team with monstre salaries.. and NO need to selle anyone.
The end of that game should teach something about the link between training-economy-market AND fun in the game.. imho.

I believe training and playing matches doesn't need to be linked, but add e.g. 10% of training when your play plays a match. That way, you have the freedom to make your own choices. Furthermore, I would limit that amount of training spots (e.g. 10, but economic studies of the game need to point out the correct number). To stimulate the transfer market, I would imitate the amount of trainers you can have and each trainer can only train 1 or 2 skills.

you have the freedom to make your own choices

(OffTopic:)
why freedom is so overrated everywhere?
If there are only downsides on a choice you can always use this fantastic word (without any meaning at all) to twist things and color of good and proud something that's simply stupid.
(end of offtopic)

What is this freedom for?
Why people need to be free in order to get fun?
Is the challenge that makes this kind of games funny. try to image something HARD TO DO, not something easier than now. IMHO.

Have you actually read the post and understand what I was posting, or do you just see one phrase and decide to go on a rampage?

What I suggest actually allows everyone to play as much as possible in their own way (or at least, I believe this provides the means to do so).
And having choices to me means having fun. I don't like games that dictate one simple style of playing. The only dictatorship I like being part of, is the one where I am the dictator.

ahah LOL.
I could answer with a merkel/obama/putin but you're too smart to need a photo to understand my post in ITS context.

PS: NorthKorean shows a lack of democracy, not freedom (in fact freedom without specification means.. nothing!)

Are there any wheels spinning or are you just trying to see how many people would pay to play this game? If you'd practice what you preach there vould be some early beta stuff going on by now. But as far as i can see you're just collecting info on how much money you'd get...that's not the right way to do this kind of stuff (your "passion project"). The time is now...only 20k users left on sokker, at least 1/3 of them are bots or not playin regilularly, so this is the ideal time to jump ships.

The concept is great, if you could really make a game based on sokker principles with intent on improoving. That'd surely bring down this DEV forsaken game...which in all honesty needs to be done some time soon anyway.

The problem is that he wants other people to do the project for him for free, he's just 'the brains' of the project :-)
