you guys remember when movies were stand alone? one movie and that's it, story closed :).. I miss those days, good old days :)..

why? nobody makes you watch the sequels

I don't get why people complain so much in a world where you have such an amazing choice of movies, books, music etc.

Nowadays you LITERALLY can get what you WANT

That's fair said.. unfortunately, only choice is amazing, not the content :) (in most of it).. In recent years it's like there is not a single original idea, thought, theme.. Everything gets recycled over and over again..
I'm getting old, I guess..

Don't get me wrong, I got nothing against sequels, many movies have better (more engaging story, visuals, character development etc.) sequels then the original (Terminator 2, Godfather 2, hell even Ace Ventura 2 hahahaha) but what today is happening is ridiculous XD..

But this discussion is pointless really, you can't really argue with the "taste" for movies/books/music :)

(and still, I watched every Nightmare on Elm street, Friday 13th, Halloween, Alien, AVP, damn even Police Academy XDDD and many more)

A sequel is indeed not always bad (if the story is to big or the story is just to good etc. (Like the star wars , hobbit, .. ) , but there is a difference about a good sequel or just make movie sequels for the money.

For example i really like the director of real steel, they want to make a sequel but they are still trying to get a good story first (already 6 years)

(still pissed that Neill's Alien 5 probably won't be made).. hahahaha, what irony, here I'm bashing sequels and at the same time pissed that they won't make 5th sequel even though they made 2 prequels and probably will make 3 more XDDD

it was organised for the first time last year (as reaction of the white oscars)
(so older movie's could participate for some category's

S.J. Jackson was nomineeed in that category with django unchained
But lost against denzel washington with training day :p
