You could probably clear several hundred million even after you buy up youth. There are still decent deals out there for kids if you're patient. "Talent" is not a factor there, like it is here.

Everyone else on my team has 35 or more P left. I could theoretically sell my top 4, buy some good 24 year old trainees with upper 200's AI, and still stay in I with what I've got left.

If you're buying up youth you need 90+ q and at least 82 potential (when they were 17, of course that's lower if you're buying mid 20's).

It is not economical to buy those. Stud trainees in the 17-19 year old range are too expensive there. Better off buying 22 -24 year olds.

no. tactics there are more subtle, and ultimately you are at the mercy of the match engine. Although that's not much different here. It's a bit less random here.

in hockey arena, there's a lot more design flexibility in how you build players. It's not easy to explain, but the easiest way I can do so is, think of the design flexibility/options for players here. Then double that. There's only what, 8 attributes for each player - but the way lines interact together and the tactics you assign for them makes for clear differences over time.

Because in hockey, you literally have 16 to 21 players playing in a game, in groups of 5. In soccer you have 8 or 9 guys minimum playing the entire game.

There's no cool tactics editor though. Tactics are how you build lines, how you set up checking intensity, what style of play you use, how you set up your special teams (PP, PK) personnel wise.

I was a bit of a victim of the RNG this playoffs. I had every tactical advantage for my playoff semifinal series game 3 and literally maximum motivation possible for my team, and still lost 4-3. Run the game 10 more times and I win 7 of them. *shrug*

They have a text match viewer which isn't too bad. It's got about, I dunno, 30k people playing it worldwide.

Text engine. There are tactics - you have different options for each line (e.g. checking, counter attacks, pressing, shots from the blue, etc). Different positions need different combinations of skills to excel different tactics. You can train shooting, attacking, strength, speed, passing and self control (along with goalie), so you basically build players or buy players based on what you plan on playing on their line. You get "special event" goals if your lines are good at their tactics, similar to "head" and "quick" in HT.

Well, he's been spending massive money on this playoff run. I'm not sure I realized how mediocre his bank balance was when I was explaining to him how things go in the playoffs in I.1.

Although to be fair, his investments will balance out, if not slightly improve, now that he's earned a spot in the world league. that's 5 league type payouts. About 55-60 million per team.

Plus I mean if he gets a lucky win tonight, he's the champion of the "NHL", so to speak.

I didn't really lose more than $100m combined in all the massive bonuses I've been paying, I think. I only did silly money in game #2 this time and game #3 last round. Even with that, though, I'm still relatively poor.

Of course, I also dumped $125m into making -3's into -2's a few weeks back. That makes a difference too, I suppose.

Speaking of dollars, Chuck Norris is the only person who can win at monopoly with a one dollar bill, a get out of jail free card, and his fists.

well, it's fiscally smart to spend major bonus money in every round of I.1 league.

Quarterfinals, to guarantee relevant income the remainder of the playoffs.
Semifinals, to guarantee a world league berth
Finals, because, well, that's the whole point if you get that far :)

but I.1 is different then any other league. Any other league, it's basically win the QF round to not be mired with 2 weeks of lousy paying friendlies.

As the current HA champion (WHEEEEE), I am starting a youth movement and am selling a few stud old guys today to end on Sunday. Any opinion about what time of day is best to have players end in that game?

don't end them Sunday, first of all.

I'd wait and start them on Monday, some ending Wednesday, some ending Thursday.
Don't sell two similar guys in the same position at the same time too.
