I have been playing for a little over one season, would like some help, especially considering it looks like I may promote to B league (have a qualifier vs a bot). I have rotated training between pace, stamina, and most of the time focusing on defending. Would appreciate some mentoring advice. Thanks.

Wow, I would think after a full season of sokker and even promoting that you'd have figured out the basics by now.

The mentoring program, I think, is for total noobs. Like I was, 2 weeks ago.

Guacamole is basically done mentoring me now, and I've already got a reasonable grasp on the basics of the game thanks to him.

Quite honestly, at your point you should be close to ready to mentor someone else.

I can assure you I will be, by this time next season.

Well you would think, but frankly, other than initiating a training program, and making a basic lineup, I would say I am clueless.

Do not know what to do with stadium, or what skills I am looking for at players outside of defenders (and when to sell my trainees to buy other position players). And not a clue on formation setting.

As for me promoting, I think it is more a fact of my division having teams newer than me and the B league I am playing into has 3 or 4 bots. I do not think it is anything I have done.

Well that means I'm just going to kick all sorts of rear end next season :)

Islander, some people don't start rolling on a ramp. :)

Anyone need a mentee? I currently am still helping islander (tho he thinks he knows all) and just got a new one yesterday.

I'm waiting for SLU.

I would like a mentor, or at least a sounding board. Please SK mail me if interested. Thanks.

We need to order here or this program will turn into a mess;

Guacamole make some rules please.

You guys want to go thru the mentors in an order? I can do that, there just arne't that many of us so i figured people could grab the newbies as they came in like jon/i did yesterday with the newbs from sokkerhelp and ky did the other day.

In the meantime, can you work with fla Lakay?
2006-07-21 21:25:36
I figure the mentees know how to SK-mail. They can fire me a message and I'll answer :D

Since I've got Plus I'd be more than happy to take a look at any mentee's tactics and give them some thoughts.

lol, don't be so sure about that :)

On that note I intend to help both SLU and Rimbaud out as much as I honestly can. I'm STILL a newb though, but I have (I think) a firm base understanding of the game now.

At least as far as rebuilding/building your team to your specs goes.

Here's what i suggest we do with mentors to control this. I really want to get every new player a mentor if they are interested.

Any plus user who isn't going to actually have a cup of their own (i am), create a USA Mentor cup and the associated thread. Then join another cup... Now all of the mentors can join that thread.

Each of us will have our own thread there and will keep up to date a list of their current mentees and if they are ready for a new one.

Sound good?

We won't expect the mentees to look thru that thread, it will just be for me to assign ppl to a mentor.

Current mentors are:

fromastaflex
Guacamole
jonandabby
kysupercat
