years without Champions League:

2014-07-16 21:55:33
And losing at home to St. Patrick Athletic won't help you to reset this statistic...
2014-07-16 22:34:21
no, it won't :D

it's amazing. Legia is just TERRIBLE on the pitch today.

I have no words.

1:1 !

What a great success!

xD

Grey countries were never in CL?
2014-07-17 13:57:09
exactly
2014-07-23 23:18:54
18 years without chl?
you had a pretty decent team a few seasons ago in lech poznan
2014-07-23 23:20:59
you can probably add another year..celtic is the toughest side that you could have met in this stage of the competition
i can`t see them not qualifying for the playoff
2014-07-23 23:30:07
nah, Lech wasn't so good either. they just had luck in the games and drawn teams that used reserved against Lech, like Juve and Man City. also it was probably the worst Juve in last 30-40 years, 2x 7th place in Serie A.

and yeah, I can't see Legia beating Celtic. not with these players and this coach.
2014-07-24 20:40:30
lech wasnt` just lucky, they played pretty good that season, 2009-2010...i think lewandowski was the top scorer of the team, and in the next season borussia bought him
2014-07-24 20:50:12
not really

the season Lech faced Juve and Man City, there was no Lewandowski anymore, he was in BvB already

the main striker was Artjoms Rudnevs

Lech in Europe

season 2008/09

3rd plac in UEFA Cup group after Deportivo and CSKA Moscow, eliminated next round by Udinese

season 2009/10

defeated by Club Brugge in play offs before the group

2010/11

2nd place in group after City, before Juventus

no Lewandowski in Poznan though :p and as mentioned, Juventus used a lot of reserve and youth players in these games, for some of them it was their only game ever for Juve :p

eliminated in next round by Braga

so honestly, Lech did nothing special in Europe...

Romanian clubs were much more successful from what I remember

i thought he played for lech in that season...but you`re right, lech finished second in 2010-2011

Romanian clubs were much more successful from what I remember

not much...the only decent seasons of the romanian teams were 2008-2009, in champions league, when cfr cluj defeated roma on olimpico, draw with chelsea home, and also in 2012-2013 when they finished with the same number of points as galata, but on the 3`rd place...and also steaua bucharest 2 seasons ago
2014-07-24 21:05:22
but you also had decent results in UEFA/Europa League, right? some quarterfinals?
2014-07-24 21:17:01
in 2005-2006 we had a quarterfinal of uefa between steaua-rapid bucharest, but that`s a long time ago, and in 2012-2013 steaua almost qualified in the quarters of EL against chelsea, after they eliminated ajax...pretty good for our level, but not much
