Subject: GROUP G (GER/POR/GHA/USA)

2014-06-23 13:07:08
I don't think that game is a big reference.. :) Nevertheless, USA would fit us more then Germany of course which we really need to avoid in second round
2014-06-23 13:34:10
Not sure about that. Against Germany you would have more space and their "wingbacks" are crap, which could be exploited.

But on the other hand, the US have Howard :p

I don't understand why people were/are so excited about the Howard's save against Portugal...I mean it was a shot in the middle of the goal, Howard made a mistake in the beginning and basically if that would've gone in, it would be his fault

so all he did was save his face and people started to call it...the best save of World Cup

seriously?

the best replay is 0:20. it was an easy shot, he actually could've catched the ball without even moving

shot was slow, right in the middle of goal, at the height of his head

seriously, can you imagine an easier shot to save?

Yeah, our goalkeeper is better :D

Begović is class:)

anyway, two best saves so far from what I remember - Pletikosa saving Oscar's shot from long distance and Ochoa saving Neymar's header
2014-06-23 14:09:16
I don't think it was that good either, but I wouldn't call it a mistake either: He couldn't know the shot was going to be like that, so he needed to prepare for a strong shot to his other post. It was a bit of a tennis play, when they send the ball to the unexpected side, leave it short, or lob it over :P
2014-06-23 14:32:21
I meant that

But on the other hand, the US have Howard :p

as an argument for Belgium to prefer playing against the USA. ;)
2014-06-23 14:35:10
ah, now it makes sense.

Polish twitter was full of journalists writing that Howard made an amazing save, possibly the best at World Cup. It seems that our journalists have reached the level of our players :p.

Maybe you're right, he was trying to adjust his position and got surprised by an early shot. Still, nothing to be excited with, even Howard had a look on his face saying 'geez, I almost screwed it up'
2014-06-23 14:42:22
Agree.
And now, who bets on a 2-2 between Germany and USA? :P
2014-06-23 14:52:47
I would love to see a coing toss

there are chances for a coin toss deciding who qualifies to next round in 2 groups so...:p

but yeah, Germany-USA probably a draw. I imagine a similar theatre like Denmark-Sweden, with a 'draw goal' coming late, after '80 :)

We must have one of the most corrupt federations in the WC. It would be embarrassing if we don't manage to pull something like that with Nigeria as well :P
2014-06-23 15:06:56
hehe don't tell me about corrupted federations...:P

official (the real is probably even worse :D) budget of Polish Football Federation in 2012:

whole budget: 65m zloty (1m euro = 4m zloty)
wages and expensed of FA members: 20m zloty
national team: 8m zloty
budget for coach courses and youth teams: 1m zloty [just a bit more than our FA president was earning :D]

I agree.
I don't think that Loewe will hurt his "friend" Klinsmann... A draw will permit to go on both... Germany 1° and USA 2°... And all will be happy...

I hopt for a draw, or win, however how do you tell the strikers to not attempt to score?
2014-06-24 10:41:41
They can score. They need a draw with every results : 1-1, 2-2, 3-3...
It already happened.
Watch this match (you can find it on youtube) : Denmark-Sweden (European Champhisip 2004) and you can learn how is it possible...
