Subject: SEMI-finals

Pure jealousy.

Thanks, that's exactly my point, media hype

it's not media hype...some players dive often, some don't...

one of the ridiculous dives is Busquets...but also Chiellini who plays hard, but if he gets even a delicate hit, he starts crying...and even though I support Juve, I really don't like what Giorgio does since 2 years...

Yep, and some are left alone by critics and therefor aren't known as divers eventhough they could be the worst players ever. And some dive a few times in their carreer and everytime it get blown up by media so it becomes the only thing known of this player, because of the media and memes.

But you have to look at it from the right perspective. What did media make of it, how often was it really a dive and how often questionable or simply not true (for example Robben and Mexico, people actually believe the penalty was because of a dive and that rumor/lie spreads on the internet and starts it's own life), are other players also put under the same microscope and judged that often (here comes the media again), etc etc.

I also absolutely don't like diving (cheating), but unfortunatly it is part of football. As long as rules aren't changed and new technology not introduced it is impossible to get ride of this behaviour because diving will be rewarded rather than punished. The moment a swalbe is always a yellow card and inside the opponent's box a red card, it won't happen that often anymore.

EDIT: and talking about yellow cards, the rule of fieldhockey should be used: yellow card is 10 or 15 minutes penalty time of the pitch :)

like who for example is not known as a diver, but is a diver?

like who?

Neymar, Robben, early Ronaldo etc. are/were always diving. not in every action of course, but in most games made at least one dive, or an exaggeration after a foul.

But you have to look at it from the right perspective. I don't care about the media.

Still, the 'Mexico incident' wasn't caused by media. It was caused by Robben diving a lot before.
If you dive a lot, the ref and people will often think that you were diving even when you were actually fouled.

Exactly, like the boy who cried the wolf...
usually when the wolf is really there nobody's gonna believe you...

It happens so many times during matches, on every position, it's impossible to keep track who isn't diving. Even defenders fall down the moment they can and when it's beneficial. The media and people just picks out a few but they can easily pick many more. Just start counting during matches everytime a players falls down for absolutely nothing.

Neymar, Robben, early Ronaldo etc. are/were always diving. not in every action of course, but in most games made at least one dive, or an exaggeration after a foul.

I can turn this around. Find forwards (strikers) who don't dive at least ones during a match. If you really start searching for this, you will find many, in fact too many examples each match.

If you dive a lot, the ref and people will often think that you were diving even when you were actually fouled.

Mostly people, because refs are trained for their 'job' and will try to judge every situation by itself. People on the other hand are a lot dumber and receptive when watching tv, talking to eachother and/or listen to the wrong media.

Does Robben "falls" to often, for me yes. That may have played against him on the first half when Mexican commited 2 penalties on the same play against him.
However, the penalty after the 90 was OK for me. The fall maybe was overacted but I do see contact and that's a penalty. I don't buy the "to llitle to be a penalty" issue... is black or white, no grays there.

I do not complain about Mexico-match.
My pictures only should show that Robben (some times) dive too much.

At Mexico-match he sayed that he dive in situation before (first half).

And end of the match (second half) the mexican-player had a little contact with Robben
(it is a penalty decision 50% to 50% in my eyes)

But even that he had a little contact, Robben make extra dive after
(little contact at this situation + extra dive (and sometimes without any contact of opponent player)

That is, what Robben do not make me that I like him (as simpatic player).

Way to try cheat the referee. Try, try, and try, many times, and one time the referee gives penalty.
hmmm . . . very nice . . .

I do not want see a team winning with that way
(I do not talk about the mexican match, I talk in general)

Holland can play so good (like the match against Holland vs Espana 5-1)
I liked watching them :-) at the first matches in group phase.

But when I see cheating, with trying dives to get penalty's...
When I see this, all my simpathy is over.

... or at last match during the penalty shoot-out, the Holland-GK "Krul" try to insure the player of Costa Rica with unfair way (general it is yellow card, but referee did not give).
Twice time it would be red. Then the goal is empty...

---
Did someone know, if this is possible ? (I do not talk about Holland match, I ask in general)
During penalty shoot-out a GK get a red card, and then... ?
The rest of penaltys with empty goal ? (if no substitutes would be open)

any available pitch player could take the GK position (except Robben, he´d dive even goalkeeping... :)
2014-07-08 08:42:36
Just like in normal time after all substitutes are done, a fieldplayer will be in the goal. (For Holland it would be Kuyt, and he would save :D :D )

For the diving I agree. I think it was a penalty against Mexico, but the dive after the touch should have been yellow.
Robben is a great player, he doesn't need it. But he does it always. I don't like it.

I think we have a misurderstanding about the words...

for many people here "DIVE" means "TO FALL WITHOUT CONTACT"
while for others means "TO THEATRICALLY FALL (with or without a contact)"

so someone doesn't understand while other people says "there was a contact and then he dived", because for them is a contraddiction...
but for others there's not... they simply mean "there was a contact and then he theatrically fall"
that's it

Wow! I think no one will asking again who will become the champion after this match, it is total clear now.
