Subject: Sick & Tired of advertising

Ok, you are speaking about true cases, but how may we know if someone who lives in Australia and ask a team in Albania is really from there or just more one australian?

We can never know for certain. It'd be nice to come to a common understanding about how to minimize it best.

I say accept only teams with the Albania IP.
How do you feel about us advicing these users to get a relative from back home to sign them up. Is that proof enough of them being Albanian? I think that minimizes it best. Chances of a polish user finding an Albanian who lives in Albania to sign them up, are pretty slim. Even some albanian abroad might have problems finding one. In my opinion is the best solution.

This is not an option unfortunately. There are ways to manipulate your IP and if we see this happening (applying from a small country and constant changes in IP afterwards) now (it actually frequently does), we are banning the user.

But if you have any other idea, let us know :)

It's better than nothing. And if the guy cheats, we could close both teams, his and the team who applied for him. :)

The solution to the problem could be letting one user per country deal with those registration problems - to evaluate if a registrar is from the same country or not.

I don't reckon this as a frequent problem - I think this could be solved simply by a better cooperation between site linguists and admins.

All registration mails (or registration problems appeals) from foreign countries should be directed to the linguists, who would say if the person is from the same country or not.

The user after registration would be labeled as "Albanian living in US" or so (just an example) - and would have approved loggings from the foreign IPs.

btw. often changable IPs may be caused by frequent travels ;]

Ok guys it took me 3 times to register to get this team.I was refered from a friend .and 3 rd time i got the team when i went to Albania.I refered 3 friends and 2 of them try to register and their team was canceled, they do play other games and not interested in aplying againmost of us play more than one game and we all have other things in our life and why waste time.Let me give a sample,a friend refered me to play soccerproject i tried for 2 nights in row and the site was down,i never went back to register,WHY,it isent my fault that soccerproject cant offer service for 24 hours, same is with sokker,it isent players fault that sokker cant offer them a team.Rules are rules and they can't be broken ,if someone has more than 2 teams take them of the list both.Someone might say what if we all want to register for a certian league.WHY,dont you want to play for your own country,
Ok Guys just trying to make a point.
we know it isent easy for workers to control everything in this game, and we know theres some that try to spam,
but to ask fo an ID ,i dont know about that

Only two options really.

1) Either you cut on the registration requirements, allowing all Albanians and some cheaters to get in.
2) You keep it the same way, blocking all cheaters and some Albanians.

With this kind of scenarios, one can't really come up with an effective solution that will suffice entirely.
It's not down to arguing but to making a choice over the previous two options.

i dont think Gjergji would never have open this thread

There you go! Landi is the perfect example of an Albanian abroad that doesn't know English, but speaks greek instead. He uses greek as the default language as well:

Language: Ελληνικά

I mean, how can we all expect him to send an email to admin@sokker.org in english to get accepted?

What I don't understand is why is it so necesary to create a team in Albania, if you are not living there. I am a Dutch guy that is living in Peru and therefore have a team here in Peru. I don't see a reason to create a team in the Netherlands, though I am feeling 100% dutch. I am living in Peru, so therefore I have a team here
2008-01-30 18:40:47
It's not the same feeling. Depends how connected and related you are to your back home country. I know people that don't give a crap and would register in their home country.

In HT, I play in Canada and I don't get the same satisfaction as when I play against my friends or Albanians in the Albanian league. It's different for everybody. There shouldn't be a taboo of how one should feel. I think it's necessary to accommodate both choices.
2008-01-30 18:45:59
No it's not really those two options based on your personal opinion.

If there are cheaters who try to get a team in small countries in order to benefit from this, Albania is the most unattractive league on God's green earth. I mentioned before also, non Albanian = no NT coach, no NT players, and no winning the top division. I also said that at TM at the beginning there were more foreign users than Albanians playing on that league but now they're pretty much gone and they didn't achieve nothing. No fun no desire to cheat right? It's not right to prevent a league from developing. We are here to help so let's develop a strategy to cooperate and meet each other half way.

Well as you may notice in a previous post of mine I said that if he speaks greek he could send the mail at admin@sokker.org and I could translate it. If he uses italian it will be even easier 'cause there are italian admins....
