Subject: Mystery of assistants trainers ..

2009-02-20 11:00:02
until recently I had incredible/brill/brill assistants

a 20 year old popped from solid to VG in tech in 33 random weeks

previously (when 17 and 18) he had popped to good in 2 weeks and solid in 1 + 10 random (so that 33 weeks was of pure random training for precisely a full level)

I think 1/10 effective is not a bad rough estimate.

I don't think that upgrading to 3x magical would have shaved much off - 2 weeks perhaps. I have changed the incredible assistant for a magical so in a year I may have a better idea of effect

Good stats there, that's the only way to compare it properly.
2009-02-20 11:17:19
you mean your player was 20 when he popped to vg? whats his talent?
2009-02-20 11:21:43
he was - obviously the random training stretched from 18 to 20

talent was 3.75 with an incredible coach - so 3.15 perhaps with an unearthly if level = 0.2 faster

he popped from weak to average passing in 1 week at the age of 20! I think he is very talented
2009-02-20 11:49:03
before i had estimated that the factor was (talent with head coach) x (talent of average of 3 assistants)
so for unearthly and 3x unearthly assistants e.g if talent was 4 with unearthly coach + if you have 3 assistants also,.. then with unearthly its 16 weeks...

this throws that right out the window.. because those coaches should be bringing that up further...

maybe head coach or assistants only have half the influence on general pops because that would work out as approx 32 weeks...

You were massively overestimating the effect of assistants it seems

And it can't be simple multiplication because earlier in this thread is was shown assistants do something on their own. Perhaps there is even a little training with no coaches at all...

I wouldn't expect an unearthly with 3 unearthly assistants is more than twice as good as an unearthly alone
2009-02-20 12:13:15
i didnt say that... i dont know if they have affect on the main skill being trained.. however, im guessing they influence the general pops only...
although iv seen some interesting calcuations i must admit for how they affect the main skill and according to a quote of greg on previous pages.. im inclined to believe there is a slight benefit :)

anyway.. whether or not i should post this... i now have either 6 or 7 assistants... lets see how this week goes (total points is 40 something)..........
i said i would in past posts.. and bought assistants cheap so why not :)
2009-02-20 12:14:41
sounds a fun experiment

I think assistants have exactly the same improvement effect on all training
2009-02-20 12:19:49
yeah, except on the main skill being trained ;) ...???
2009-02-20 12:21:55
You're going to keep them for 2 seasons? ;-) it's the only way to really quantify it.
2009-02-20 19:27:46
We need to find the highest wage Unearthly coach, That would be the highest sub-level coach in sokker at the moment. Would i be correct in saying the higher the wage, The higher the sub-level of the coach?
2009-02-20 19:27:48
I would like to see an experiment where someone has 2 magical assistants, and someone else 3
So we can see how many more random pops the user with 3 magicals got in a season, I doubt it would be more than 3
2009-02-20 19:37:59
.. i dont know :)

personally, iv seeon two exactly similar coaches and one was magical, one was unearthly.. thats what im basing the sublevel theory on ;)

\in other news i have 6 assistants atm (outstanding, 2x very good, 2x average, 1x adequate)... will see how training goes thursday ;)
p.s im in no state to do maths atm :P
2009-02-20 19:38:58
it isn't a good methodology to make such comparison...

best way is to measure time of full-pop by general training in comparable conditions except number of assistants. it is almost imposible to do it precisely
2009-02-20 19:39:53
Ah right, maybe someone else will come along and explain in a bit more detail.

Drinking Guinness? ;)

Sublevels surely exist, but pls have in mind that keeper skill weights a bit more in wage calculation.

It was calculated long time ago that 1 direct training equals around 10 general trainings (if main coach has all unearthly skills) and 3 at least brilliant assistants.
With unearthly assistants it is probably less then 1/10 ratio.
