Still me but now older just turned 42 today still web developer and place of residence Montreal roots Bulgarian.
Why have you become NT coach of this country?
Scotland was first place i visit abroad and lived for a year there. I love the country Scottish accent and not at last is calm place to work as sokker NT.
How would you evaluate your qualification season? What can people expect from your country in the competition?
It was miracle we finished first ahead Italy but in 2 games against them we proved we deserve it. Miracle barely happened twice so if we pass the group will be success.
What do you think about your opponents in the group? Who will go through?
Anyone can make it Hungary and Tzech Republic are the favourites.

Unfortunately our best striker is in a bot team for more than a year he could be a real star
if life was bit fair. Zico Turner is getting old so i will pick then David Cowie

Hallo. I am mison :D. I played sokker for 10 years. I was coach in Albania, Algeria U21, Armenia U21 and Czech republic U21, but this is my first World Cup. I promoted with Czech U21 to World Cup, but czech community elected another candidate. But now I was reelected and this world cup is mine. I make everything for good results. In this week I looked on every match of Russia in qualification and I send mail about World Cup to every user in Czech Republic. I waited 10 years for this moment, but sokker is only a game.
Why have you become NT coach of this country?
I don’t know. Players in Czech Republic don’t like me, but before qualification I was alone candidate on Czech republic coach. I had to win :D. After qualification election was more interesting, because in Czech republic candidated Adaca and Bone (He took me U21 team after succesfull qualification on U21 World Cup). In the end, Adaca resigned and I defeated Bone Fletcher.
How would you evaluate your qualification season? What can people expect from your country in the competition?
My qualification results weren’t good, because I had terrible start. I lost two matches at start. And third match against Island was only 2:2. I thought, that world cup is lost and I failed. But after this, I won 5 matches in a row. In the end, we hadn’t luck. Czech Republic played draw 1:1 with Cuba and Portugal, but we had in these matches three more shots than our rivals. Fortunately, rivals made bad results with other teams and Czech Republic promoted on World Cup like the worst team in qualification. It is crazy.
Czech republic have a good team. We have many good players. But we don’t have a luck. Last season Czech Republic U21 lost eight-finals with Paraguay. It was very unlucky match. In sokker luck is very important. Without luck, you don’t have chance for good results. I will prepare my team. I hope, that the results will be good. My goal is golden medal. Maybe, it is impossible, but I like dreams.
What do you think about your opponents in the group? Who will go through?
Our group is harder than looks on first view. Hungary has very good players. It is favourite our group. But Scotland and Russia are also good. Scotland won qualification group and Sviktorov is very good coach. His work in Bulgaria was amazing. Who will go through ? I think, that Scotland and… Czech Republic.

Czech Republic :D. Seriously, I think that France will be good. Poland, Romania have best players. Every team in top 10 is very strong.
Which team do you think has the greatest potential to surprise in this edition?
Scotland or Cuba.
Who is at the moment or will be (in the future) the star player of your NT?
Vilém Ochmelka. He was my favourite player in U21 and now he is my favourite player in senior team. He is amazing. I love him.
I must write also about Kunc. He is a defender and he scored very important goal against Paraguay. I don’t know if some other defender scored the goal. But I played this game 10 years and I don’t saw this on NT level. In my club sometime defenders scored goal, but in NT it is incredible.
Which of your players would you choose if you could boost his form to superdivine for free?
Grošek and Tůma. Tůma is a best Czech att. Czech Republic needs him, but he has low form. Grošek is a best Czech midfielder. He is very strong, but he is also in low form. :C
If you could manage another NT additionally at this World Cup, which one would it be (sticking with your team doesn’t count)?
I don’t know. I don’t have any idea. In this moment, I am couch in Czech Republic and I do everything for good results.

Why have you become NT coach of this country?
The vast majority of Sokker coaches want to coach the selection of his country, to me is no different. Before working in Brazil I played a World Cup with Mexico U21 and a friendly season with Mexico NT. Season is our coach gave up the re-election and this opportunity arose.
How would you evaluate your qualification season? What can people expect from your country in the competition?
Our old coach made a flawless campaign. Brazil will be a competitive team and try to surprise opponents.

it was a good season, we qualified at first position in our group, si we have achieved our main target. I hope can be a good World Cup for us, even though we are in one of the most difficult and balanced group.

Suomi, Brasil, Slovensko and Argentina are all solid NT countries and each of them can go through.

Why have you become NT coach of this country?
I’m living in Germany and a successful national team and a successful country are important elements for me. At first I become involved as a scout and now I contribute for a successful national team as a NT coach.
How would you evaluate your qualification season? What can people expect from your country in the competition?
We are qualified for coming World Cup with only one lost qualification game. As I see it, was our last season very successful. Our sokker community can expect a beautiful and a successful game.
What do you think about your opponents in the group? Who will go through?
We’ve got a heavy group and form on the day could be the key to go through. Poland and Germany will go through.

qualifications went exactly according to my plans but there was one exception - I did not approach the game with Ukraine tactically well and you see how it finished 3:3

Every team in the group has an experienced manager which means they are tactically well prepared and None of them must be underestimated.

As usual, we took first place in qualif. and I expect to finally get the gold medal after 2 bronze in a row.

Probably the hardest group, it will be a great battle and I hope Belgium can be on the first 2 places.I admire how Bulgaria rised and I see them in top2, but anyway, Italy will be hard, being one of the best teams in sokker.Italy is in a top 3 quality players with Romania and Polska.

The second place after Scotland wasn't a great result, but I appreciate svik and he deserved the first place. Anyway I believe it's important to qualify to WC

There are 3 NTs that aim to the title in our group: Italy, Bulgaria and Belgium. 2 are WC champion and one is the finalist of the penultimate edition. I bet on Italy and Bulgaria!

Poland in primis, romania in secundis. I don't say Italy and then I say the France of the brilliant barros, my storical rival and bronze-medal with his France both in the latest editions of WC and European cup.

Unfortunately my stars are not available, then at the moment I say Giovanni Giovanetti, heart and brain of the team

Patrizio Belmonte, the new Franco Baresi. But we have no hope for him, since I trained him in u21 he never had a decent level of form. Ask to his owner... and Comuzzo!

Why have you become NT coach of this country?
Scotland was first place i visit abroad and lived for a year there. I love the country Scottish accent and not at last is calm place to work as sokker NT.
How would you evaluate your qualification season? What can people expect from your country in the competition?
It was miracle we finished first ahead Italy but in 2 games against them we proved we deserve it. Miracle barely happened twice so if we pass the group will be success.
What do you think about your opponents in the group? Who will go through?
Anyone can make it Hungary and Tzech Republic are the favourites.

Hallo. I am mison :D. I played sokker for 10 years. I was coach in Albania, Algeria U21, Armenia U21 and Czech republic U21, but this is my first World Cup. I promoted with Czech U21 to World Cup, but czech community elected another candidate. But now I was reelected and this world cup is mine. I make everything for good results. In this week I looked on every match of Russia in qualification and I send mail about World Cup to every user in Czech Republic. I waited 10 years for this moment, but sokker is only a game.
Why have you become NT coach of this country?
I don’t know. Players in Czech Republic don’t like me, but before qualification I was alone candidate on Czech republic coach. I had to win :D. After qualification election was more interesting, because in Czech republic candidated Adaca and Bone (He took me U21 team after succesfull qualification on U21 World Cup). In the end, Adaca resigned and I defeated Bone Fletcher.
How would you evaluate your qualification season? What can people expect from your country in the competition?
My qualification results weren’t good, because I had terrible start. I lost two matches at start. And third match against Island was only 2:2. I thought, that world cup is lost and I failed. But after this, I won 5 matches in a row. In the end, we hadn’t luck. Czech Republic played draw 1:1 with Cuba and Portugal, but we had in these matches three more shots than our rivals. Fortunately, rivals made bad results with other teams and Czech Republic promoted on World Cup like the worst team in qualification. It is crazy.
Czech republic have a good team. We have many good players. But we don’t have a luck. Last season Czech Republic U21 lost eight-finals with Paraguay. It was very unlucky match. In sokker luck is very important. Without luck, you don’t have chance for good results. I will prepare my team. I hope, that the results will be good. My goal is golden medal. Maybe, it is impossible, but I like dreams.
What do you think about your opponents in the group? Who will go through?
Our group is harder than looks on first view. Hungary has very good players. It is favourite our group. But Scotland and Russia are also good. Scotland won qualification group and Sviktorov is very good coach. His work in Bulgaria was amazing. Who will go through ? I think, that Scotland and… Czech Republic.

Czech Republic :D. Seriously, I think that France will be good. Poland, Romania have best players. Every team in top 10 is very strong.

Scotland or Cuba.
Who is at the moment or will be (in the future) the star player of your NT?
Vilém Ochmelka. He was my favourite player in U21 and now he is my favourite player in senior team. He is amazing. I love him.
I must write also about Kunc. He is a defender and he scored very important goal against Paraguay. I don’t know if some other defender scored the goal. But I played this game 10 years and I don’t saw this on NT level. In my club sometime defenders scored goal, but in NT it is incredible.
Which of your players would you choose if you could boost his form to superdivine for free?
Grošek and Tůma. Tůma is a best Czech att. Czech Republic needs him, but he has low form. Grošek is a best Czech midfielder. He is very strong, but he is also in low form. :C

I don’t know. I don’t have any idea. In this moment, I am couch in Czech Republic and I do everything for good results.

The vast majority of Sokker coaches want to coach the selection of his country, to me is no different. Before working in Brazil I played a World Cup with Mexico U21 and a friendly season with Mexico NT. Season is our coach gave up the re-election and this opportunity arose.

it was a good season, we qualified at first position in our group, si we have achieved our main target. I hope can be a good World Cup for us, even though we are in one of the most difficult and balanced group.

Suomi, Brasil, Slovensko and Argentina are all solid NT countries and each of them can go through.

I’m living in Germany and a successful national team and a successful country are important elements for me. At first I become involved as a scout and now I contribute for a successful national team as a NT coach.
How would you evaluate your qualification season? What can people expect from your country in the competition?
We are qualified for coming World Cup with only one lost qualification game. As I see it, was our last season very successful. Our sokker community can expect a beautiful and a successful game.

We’ve got a heavy group and form on the day could be the key to go through. Poland and Germany will go through.

As usual, we took first place in qualif. and I expect to finally get the gold medal after 2 bronze in a row.

Probably the hardest group, it will be a great battle and I hope Belgium can be on the first 2 places.I admire how Bulgaria rised and I see them in top2, but anyway, Italy will be hard, being one of the best teams in sokker.Italy is in a top 3 quality players with Romania and Polska.

After countless (15 - 20 ?) seasons of (U21)India coach now for the third season in charge of Nederland. My NT work is overshadowing my clubteam performance.....
Why have you become NT coach of this country?
Main reason to start was to keep the NT of my own country into Dutch hands. I believe in long-term runs of leading an NT, in most cases foreign managers are more focused on short term results.
How would you evaluate your qualification season? What can people expect from your country in the competition?
After some years of tough qualification groups I think this group was a big chance to progress, with only 3 nations having a chance of qualification. After a big win against the main contender Serbia, we were a bit lucky against Uruquay. That country perhaps deserved more than 3rd place. The final round of the WC is a bit of a lottery, lot of teams close to eachother, hoping to avoid the big guns Poland and Romenia.
What do you think about your opponents in the group? Who will go through?
Two surprising teams, Moldova and Cuba, but after studying them its not very surprising. Cuba playing with very strong tactics, an experienced coach. Moldova was in a group with Hrvatska, who disappointed against my former country India.
Austria is very comparable with Nederland.
I am obliged to say we will progress ourselves and the number 2 will be.....ehhh Austria on goaldifference.

Poland, Bulgaria and Romania.
Which team do you think has the greatest potential to surprise in this edition?
If Cuba progresses to the next round, I think thats the biggest surprise (in combination with qualification) and its not unlikely that I actually happens.

Thats Lennart Luissel age 21 !!!
Which of your players would you choose if you could boost his form to superdivine for free?
Fredrik-Pieter Steekelenburgh, by far the best midfielder of the country. In low form for almost 2 seasons now. He probably won't play this edition.
If you could manage another NT additionally at this World Cup, which one would it be (sticking with your team doesn’t count)?
Poland. Having a pool of many many extraordinary players to choose from.... feels like Dagobert Scrooge Mc Duck.

Hi, I'm 28yo and in real life I'm a web developer. I born in Cuban but I'm living in EE.UU since 2012 and I started playing sokker in 2010
Why have you become NT coach of this country?
I have been worked with both cuban NTs (Senior and U21) since 2011. Before start coaching I was part of the Cuba NT staff working together with Jenerey (a friend in real life) and who was in that moment the coach of the Cuba NT.
7 season ago, he told me that I should put my postulation to coach the Senior team of Cuba because I was working in the staff for so many years and I knew most of the NT players very well. In first place he told me to coach the Cuba NT because he knew that we were (in that moment) some of the few cuban managers who had a desire to work hard to take forward the sokker Cuba. I just follow his advice and here we are !!!! Playing the WC for the first time in our history .....
How would you evaluate your qualification season? What can people expect from your country in the competition?
What can I tell you, the last season was just awesome for us, we played in a very tied group, but the team was very focused in what to do and the results started coming over.
We never thought that at the end of the season we will be in the 1st position in our qualifying group. At the beginning of this last season, the World Cup qualification was just a dream for us. But many season ago, we started working very hard from the junior schools, and finally, now we have started to see the result of our efforts.
In 2010 we were a divided community but today we are a very close community and that is a positive effect to our national teams.
What do you think about your opponents in the group? Who will go through?
It's a very strong group, but I think the most strong opponent should be Nederland ....

For me the most strongest team in sokker is Poland and even more if it is managed by a great coach. But we should look very closely some NT like Spain, Italy, Bulgaria, Romania, just to mention a few of them ...
Which team do you think has the greatest potential to surprise in this edition?
Definitely I think that Crna Gora will play a great WC and can give us a very nice surprise
Who is at the moment or will be (in the future) the star player of your NT?
For sure, Yordanis Calzadilla will be the best cuban player of all times
Which of your players would you choose if you could boost his form to superdivine for free?
Definitely I will choose Andy Tussen, he is one of those players who don't have any skills at the top level, but he just play the games like a 5x18 player, he is very special for us, and I'm sure we will miss him when he get older and he can not play any more in our national team
If you could manage another NT additionally at this World Cup, which one would it be (sticking with your team doesn’t count)?
Now I'm coaching here in my country, I have been here for 7 straight seasons and I don't know til when I will be here. But I think that in the future, coach in some European selection like Germany can be a very nice experience for me...

Being here in the WC is a dream come true for our small community. But finally here we are and we will give all the best of us and play as strong as possible ;-)

Hello! My name is Claudius. I will soon make four years of Sokker 13 years of life. I like playing football and doing recently and in an organized manner at a club in Bucharest (Romania). It is a little odd since I arrived first and then national coach football, right?
Why have you become NT coach of this country?
I think we got by mistake. I applied the play thinking that I have no chance, especially as we compete with Romanian coach at the time. My choice was a surprise for everybody and especially for me. So I got to know and another part of this game is helped greatly gexge (U21 coach)
How would you evaluate your qualification season? What can people expect from your country in the competition?
Qualification was a surprise for those involved in Sokker but even more beautiful. There were mistakes but we knew it and take advantage of opponents' mistakes. So I got to this Final Tournament
What do you think about your opponents in the group? Who will go through?
I believe that the best teams are present and it is normal to witness exciting matches. I think they will lose those who neglect their opponents. My series is tough, beautiful and balanced. I wanted to win in every game. If I succeed or not remains to be seen

I do not know. I can not afford to focus on the form because they do not have many players. All we want to have players in form but we can not do anything

I'm too involved physically and sentimental in Moldova that to think of another national team. I do not know if I succeed at another national. They are national coach of Moldova. Moldova love!

Hello! I'm a sokker veteran who has been playing for about 9 years I think? My main focus has always been tactics ever since I started and I love coming up with new ways to win games by outsmarting my opponents!
Why have you become NT coach of this country?
I'm from the USA and of course have that American pride! Really though, I saw our team sitting at rank 46 and knew I could lead the team to a higher ranking. As of this moment we're rank 21 so I feel pretty successful in that regard!
How would you evaluate your qualification season? What can people expect from your country in the competition?
We won the hard games, and tied all the easy games. Was a little bit unlucky but hey that's sokker!
What do you think about your opponents in the group? Who will go through?
I think we drew an insanely tough group! I will be happy if we can win even one of the games. Stretch goal to win 1 and tie 1! I think Romania and Spain go through, though I'd of course love to have USA sneak through!

Which team do you think has the greatest potential to surprise in this edition?
USA clearly! I don't think anyone expects anything from us, especially with this group of death

Honestly, USA doesn't have any star players anymore. Our country is too small and unfortunately it has really hurt our player selection. I'd say maybe Brand or Atwood though if I had to choose?

Probably one of our better midfielders. They seem to always be in terrible form and it makes it hard to justify using them.

Why have you become NT coach of this country?
Montenegro's community gave me a chance 5 seasona ago. We made a great job. When I started work in country our team had 76th position in NT Rank. Now we have 33th position in NT Rank.. community made great job, they have great plan for training young players and are really helpfull. Last WC was our fist start. Community gave me next chance 2 season ago. We won our WCQ Group and now we have chance to better result than last WC. It's very exciting when we can beat better teams.. and I really like Montenegro and his community! Work in this country is very, very comfortable and give many happy.
How would you evaluate your qualification season? What can people expect from your country in the competition?
I don't now. Last WC we had debut in WC (4 points, 3rd position in group). I would like make a better result. Maybe we can promote from group? I believe!

Our group is very strong. All teams have better potential than Montenegro, but our team is brave. Who will go to 1/8? Schweiz and.. Crna Gora!

Montenegro is small country, but they have great community. Users are really helpfull and this success (World Cup) is possible by their work with me. Big thanks for all Montenegro managers! We are one of the worst team (players, average rank) in WC, but maybe we make a surprise? It's really possible. We beat Spain, Czech Rep, Norge and Bolivia in last season! ; )

Hi, I'm a 27y student (still..) from Switzerland, playing Sokker for more than 10 years now. How time flies!
Why have you become NT coach of this country?
Switzerland is my home country and it's where I had my first appointment as coach. After we had 3 unsuccessful WCQ campaigns, I thought it was a good time to come back and manage the team once more.
How would you evaluate your qualification season? What can people expect from your country in the competition?
I'm happy with the qualification. We did our duty, but I feel there is still some potential to perform better. If we manage to do that in the next few weeks, we can play a good role at the WC too.
What do you think about your opponents in the group? Who will go through?
Perhaps not the most prestigious opponents, but strong teams nevertheless. At the World Cup you can win or lose against anyone. We'll have to fight hard.

İt was a good season. Bulgaria was Superb. and Latvija was very strong. We were 24. in ranking but after WCQ we are 14. in ranking.

We , Schweiz and Lietuva Same squads. Crna-gora have worse squad but Kouta Tamazaki made a history , Every teams can beat everyone. I think Schweiz and Eesti go through.

7 season ago, he told me that I should put my postulation to coach the Senior team of Cuba because I was working in the staff for so many years and I knew most of the NT players very well. In first place he told me to coach the Cuba NT because he knew that we were (in that moment) some of the few cuban managers who had a desire to work hard to take forward the sokker Cuba. I just follow his advice and here we are !!!! Playing the WC for the first time in our history .....
How would you evaluate your qualification season? What can people expect from your country in the competition?
What can I tell you, the last season was just awesome for us, we played in a very tied group, but the team was very focused in what to do and the results started coming over.
We never thought that at the end of the season we will be in the 1st position in our qualifying group. At the beginning of this last season, the World Cup qualification was just a dream for us. But many season ago, we started working very hard from the junior schools, and finally, now we have started to see the result of our efforts.
In 2010 we were a divided community but today we are a very close community and that is a positive effect to our national teams.
What do you think about your opponents in the group? Who will go through?
It's a very strong group, but I think the most strong opponent should be Nederland ....

For me the most strongest team in sokker is Poland and even more if it is managed by a great coach. But we should look very closely some NT like Spain, Italy, Bulgaria, Romania, just to mention a few of them ...
Which team do you think has the greatest potential to surprise in this edition?
Definitely I think that Crna Gora will play a great WC and can give us a very nice surprise
Who is at the moment or will be (in the future) the star player of your NT?
For sure, Yordanis Calzadilla will be the best cuban player of all times
Which of your players would you choose if you could boost his form to superdivine for free?
Definitely I will choose Andy Tussen, he is one of those players who don't have any skills at the top level, but he just play the games like a 5x18 player, he is very special for us, and I'm sure we will miss him when he get older and he can not play any more in our national team

Now I'm coaching here in my country, I have been here for 7 straight seasons and I don't know til when I will be here. But I think that in the future, coach in some European selection like Germany can be a very nice experience for me...

Being here in the WC is a dream come true for our small community. But finally here we are and we will give all the best of us and play as strong as possible ;-)

I think we got by mistake. I applied the play thinking that I have no chance, especially as we compete with Romanian coach at the time. My choice was a surprise for everybody and especially for me. So I got to know and another part of this game is helped greatly gexge (U21 coach)
How would you evaluate your qualification season? What can people expect from your country in the competition?
Qualification was a surprise for those involved in Sokker but even more beautiful. There were mistakes but we knew it and take advantage of opponents' mistakes. So I got to this Final Tournament
What do you think about your opponents in the group? Who will go through?
I believe that the best teams are present and it is normal to witness exciting matches. I think they will lose those who neglect their opponents. My series is tough, beautiful and balanced. I wanted to win in every game. If I succeed or not remains to be seen

Why have you become NT coach of this country?
I'm from the USA and of course have that American pride! Really though, I saw our team sitting at rank 46 and knew I could lead the team to a higher ranking. As of this moment we're rank 21 so I feel pretty successful in that regard!
How would you evaluate your qualification season? What can people expect from your country in the competition?
We won the hard games, and tied all the easy games. Was a little bit unlucky but hey that's sokker!
What do you think about your opponents in the group? Who will go through?
I think we drew an insanely tough group! I will be happy if we can win even one of the games. Stretch goal to win 1 and tie 1! I think Romania and Spain go through, though I'd of course love to have USA sneak through!

Probably one of our better midfielders. They seem to always be in terrible form and it makes it hard to justify using them.

Montenegro's community gave me a chance 5 seasona ago. We made a great job. When I started work in country our team had 76th position in NT Rank. Now we have 33th position in NT Rank.. community made great job, they have great plan for training young players and are really helpfull. Last WC was our fist start. Community gave me next chance 2 season ago. We won our WCQ Group and now we have chance to better result than last WC. It's very exciting when we can beat better teams.. and I really like Montenegro and his community! Work in this country is very, very comfortable and give many happy.
How would you evaluate your qualification season? What can people expect from your country in the competition?
I don't now. Last WC we had debut in WC (4 points, 3rd position in group). I would like make a better result. Maybe we can promote from group? I believe!

Why have you become NT coach of this country?
Switzerland is my home country and it's where I had my first appointment as coach. After we had 3 unsuccessful WCQ campaigns, I thought it was a good time to come back and manage the team once more.
How would you evaluate your qualification season? What can people expect from your country in the competition?
I'm happy with the qualification. We did our duty, but I feel there is still some potential to perform better. If we manage to do that in the next few weeks, we can play a good role at the WC too.
What do you think about your opponents in the group? Who will go through?
Perhaps not the most prestigious opponents, but strong teams nevertheless. At the World Cup you can win or lose against anyone. We'll have to fight hard.

borkos007 World Cup and U21 World Cup champion and Champions Cup finalist
Hi, you were chosen by Ortwin as one of the experts along with theKarsten and väinämöinen. Are you flattered?
Of course :). The number of users went down drastically over the years, but being selected as one of only three experts among thousands of users is still a huge nobilitation.
Although I must stress that I consider vainamoinen vel langhe as a weak and wrestny user :P
Tell me 3 teams that are most likely to win this WC and why do you think so.
Number 1 is of course Poland. Biggest user base and therefore biggest chance of producing top level players. Yet Poland often failed to reach its potential at World Cups, but since the national coach is my friend Ale70 I believe that it won't happen this time. Ale is one of the best coaches in sokker and has best players at his disposal. Clear favourite, but as we know - favourites don't always win :).
Number 2 is Romania. While Romania has a lower user number than Poland, I'm always amazed how many top, top, top players they have. Simply incredible, at times they had a better 11 than Poland. Perhaps they have more users with high level youth schools. Their only problem is that they have an extremely hard group at World Cup, with 3 top level teams and with some bad luck, they can end their adventure in the group stage.
Number 3...I don't really know who to pick, as I'm not as active as years ago and I don't really know the true strenght of most NTs and I don't know 'new' national coaches. Therefore I will pick Italy, as I have once coached them and still wish them great results.
Except for 4 teams (Hrvatska, Portugal, Norge and Hayastan) from the first two pots, all the seeded teams qualified for this World Cup. Is it a trend or just a coincidence?
It is perfectly normal. The rank is a good indicator of NT's strenght, as it can't be changed drastically over one season. When you are seeded in pot nr 1 or nr 2, people can and should expect you to qualify to the World Cup.
Which teams do you think have the greatest potential to surprise in this edition and why?
As I've mentioned, I don't follow the NTs so much right now...But if I had to choose, I would choose Bosna and Hercegovina - even though they are a small country with only 122 users, their National Team achieves great results and seems very strong:).
Extra question for you: Your country won 7 out of 8 first World Cups, then Polska waited 9 NT cycles for another gold medal. What happened? Will Polska become the most dominant team once again?
The truth is that Poland had a major advantage over other National Teams in the beginning. Poland was by far bigger than other countries in the beginning of the game, so at the first World Cups other NTs didn't really have a chance to compete - it was just a question how high Poland will win, there was no real competition.
It was different with U21 World Cups, which were introduced later so all nations had time to develop. Also with u21 there is always more level playing ground, since it is about only 1 generation of players and sometimes it happens that one NT has an amazing generation and another has a very bad generation. It's enough to mention that Poland didn't win the first two u21 World Cups and succeed at 3rd attempt [it was me! :P] and then didn't win in next 3 World Cups. So in other words: 6 World Cups and just one golden medal, even more - just once Poland reached the final.
Even the first World Cup that Poland lost was a big failure of the Polish coach. Poland was still stronger than other NTs and should have won the World Cup, but as far as I remember got beaten twice by Italy - in the group and in the 1/8.
Now it's a different story. Each team from top 15-20 is able to beat every other team if they have a bit of luck and use proper tactics, or if their opponent is significantly weaker tactically. If this was a league event, then maybe it would be possible for 2-3 NTs to dominate, but with Cup rules it is practically impossible.
And we can see it in the history. Since the Polish dominance that you've mentioned, nobody was able to even reach the final two times in a row.

Second of all, it’s an honour to be one of the experts writing this nonsense here. To be honest. I feel this is the first time that a real expert is writing here, and no, I’m not talking about the other two dudes. Because
Third of all, I’m truly insulted if I’m compared with borkos000 and langhe. If this is supposed to be some sort of a joke, like “Let’s take the worst managers in the history of sokker to make some stupid comments”, I should be replaced with mrs_gabbage. Then you would’ve chosen the all-time bottom three. Now I feel like Real Madrid playing in the Finnish Veikkausliiga.
Tell me 3 teams that are most likely to win this WC and why do you think so.
Poland is always to be mentioned. Well not always, but whenever they have a decent manager as the coach. I suppose ale70 is decent. The quality of the players is super strong.
Same story with Romania, insane quality of players. Romania has a really tough group though, so there lies a chance for a huge suprise. Still those two abovementioned teams have so many good players, that it doesn’t matter if the best striker is in bad form or the best winger is injured. There’s plenty to take their place. It’s not the same for a small nation like Suomi.
Who is also the third team I set as one of the favourites. Suomi is always strong and with some luck (good forms, no injuries, luck with the draw in the playoffs) we might do it. Again.

I really hope not. I’m not aware of the number of the users in other countries. What I know is that we used to have some 600-700 users in the past in Finland and now way less than 100 active ones. So obviously the amount of youth pulls, the amount of good youth pulls and the amount of domestic trainers has declined a lot. I guess the same thing has happened in all of the countries, so the smaller ones are likely to suffer more than us middle sized. What is sad is that this might lead to the biggest countries becoming overwhelming. We’ll see.
Which teams do you think have the greatest potential to surprise in this edition and why?
I think France has a good quality in their offense. They might go surprisingly far in this edition. Extra question for you: Only three countries (Polska, Deutschland and Suomi) have qualified for all the World Cups in the past, your country is one of them. How on earth did you do it?
Only three? Wow, many of the strong teams have had some shitty managers in the past, ain’t it right langhe? What should I say, the national team has always been really important for our community. We have had lots of dedicated managers to train players for the NT. We have a couple of long-term GK trainers who have made sure that we always have good keepers to choose from. We try to keep the best youngsters in Finland and to make sure that they are trained properly. And obviously we have had good managers to coach the NT. For instance the biggest legend in the game (yours truly) has been coaching the Suomi NT a few times. But even with Hautsi we managed to make it.. that’s disturbing!
Any words you want to tell the community?
I am the only expert among this group of three. I’m repeating myself but just wanted to make sure that everyone understands it. I call langhe as langhe because Väinämöinen is the biggest hero in the Finnish mythology and I have no clue why he calls himself as the Finnish Thor. No clue at all. The 007 after borkos’ name doesn’t mean that he has a license to kill, it’s his IQ.. Wait, what, this isn’t a roast but a real interview to be published in the world cup guide? - Hard first question, I'd say yes. But then I see the others are Borkos and theKarsten, who both are überweak managers .... so I'm not sure I should be flattered to be among them :)
Tell me 3 teams that are most likely to win this WC and why do you think so.
- Being the manager of a smaller NT I don't get in contact that much with the top teams anymore. I mean, of course during WCQ there is 1 or 2 decent to very decent teams that you face, but that's about it. I guess the first name is the most obvious one, despite having failed at it for the last couple of seasons: Polska. Maybe they finally found a coach that can lead them to victory again. No one can deny they simply have some of the greatest players in their squad but maybe more important the biggest pool to look into for back ups. Secondly I'd go for Brasil. They have been low in rankings in the past, even failing WC qualification if I'm not mistaken, but recently they are getting up there. Maybe they can even go all the way? And as third team I'd pick Bulgaria. I might be a bit biased as I faced them twice in WCQ, but they have been in the top of the world ranking for a while now, despite the small pool of players they can look into. So it's a bit of a gamble on how the ME will treat them injury and suspension wise.
Except for 4 teams (Hrvatska, Portugal, Norge and Hayastan) from the first two pots, all the seeded teams qualified for this World Cup. Is it a trend or just a coincidence?
- Of course. I mean, there's always a chance a 3rd seed team is a really great team that for some reason had a crappy ranking. And of course if you have the teams ranked 32 and 33 in the same pot there's a fair chance for a 'surprise'. And we have to take into account the occasional 'joke' by the ME. But in general teams have an NT ranking based on the results of a longer period, so there's a reason why team X will usually be around position 10-15 and team Y will never enter the top 32 ...
Which teams do you think have the greatest potential to surprise in this edition and why?
- Well, that's a hard question given the previous one. Almost all teams who qualified are top 32 teams. So how can any of those teams be really 'surprising'? And the ones who surprised us by qualifying are - no offense - probably too weak to surprise at the actual WC. They might possibly make it through the group stage, but there it will probably stop. But if we look for outsiders based on current NT rankings, I think Scotland can maybe have a great run (as they once had if I ain't mistaken). Not the biggest selection, not the greatest players, but with Sviktorov they have a good coach. And he has admin buttons ... enough said? :)
Extra question for you: Your country won two bronze medals in a row (and in U21 category two gold medals). How on earth did you do it?
- Ask the U21 and NT managers? I think it's because all 3 managers involved are great coaches (DotheDew is a bit lazy though ;) ). And even though the country isn't the biggest when it comes to players, we still have an acceptable amount of youth academies. But still, the main contribution is our NT and especially U21 managers. And obviously there was some luck involved along the road to the medals as well.
Anyway, it's time DTD brings another medal to Belgium, but in a killer group stage, one misstep can already end that dream.

Of course :). The number of users went down drastically over the years, but being selected as one of only three experts among thousands of users is still a huge nobilitation.
Although I must stress that I consider vainamoinen vel langhe as a weak and wrestny user :P
Tell me 3 teams that are most likely to win this WC and why do you think so.
Number 1 is of course Poland. Biggest user base and therefore biggest chance of producing top level players. Yet Poland often failed to reach its potential at World Cups, but since the national coach is my friend Ale70 I believe that it won't happen this time. Ale is one of the best coaches in sokker and has best players at his disposal. Clear favourite, but as we know - favourites don't always win :).
Number 2 is Romania. While Romania has a lower user number than Poland, I'm always amazed how many top, top, top players they have. Simply incredible, at times they had a better 11 than Poland. Perhaps they have more users with high level youth schools. Their only problem is that they have an extremely hard group at World Cup, with 3 top level teams and with some bad luck, they can end their adventure in the group stage.
Number 3...I don't really know who to pick, as I'm not as active as years ago and I don't really know the true strenght of most NTs and I don't know 'new' national coaches. Therefore I will pick Italy, as I have once coached them and still wish them great results.

It is perfectly normal. The rank is a good indicator of NT's strenght, as it can't be changed drastically over one season. When you are seeded in pot nr 1 or nr 2, people can and should expect you to qualify to the World Cup.

As I've mentioned, I don't follow the NTs so much right now...But if I had to choose, I would choose Bosna and Hercegovina - even though they are a small country with only 122 users, their National Team achieves great results and seems very strong:).
Extra question for you: Your country won 7 out of 8 first World Cups, then Polska waited 9 NT cycles for another gold medal. What happened? Will Polska become the most dominant team once again?
The truth is that Poland had a major advantage over other National Teams in the beginning. Poland was by far bigger than other countries in the beginning of the game, so at the first World Cups other NTs didn't really have a chance to compete - it was just a question how high Poland will win, there was no real competition.
It was different with U21 World Cups, which were introduced later so all nations had time to develop. Also with u21 there is always more level playing ground, since it is about only 1 generation of players and sometimes it happens that one NT has an amazing generation and another has a very bad generation. It's enough to mention that Poland didn't win the first two u21 World Cups and succeed at 3rd attempt [it was me! :P] and then didn't win in next 3 World Cups. So in other words: 6 World Cups and just one golden medal, even more - just once Poland reached the final.
Even the first World Cup that Poland lost was a big failure of the Polish coach. Poland was still stronger than other NTs and should have won the World Cup, but as far as I remember got beaten twice by Italy - in the group and in the 1/8.
Now it's a different story. Each team from top 15-20 is able to beat every other team if they have a bit of luck and use proper tactics, or if their opponent is significantly weaker tactically. If this was a league event, then maybe it would be possible for 2-3 NTs to dominate, but with Cup rules it is practically impossible.
And we can see it in the history. Since the Polish dominance that you've mentioned, nobody was able to even reach the final two times in a row.

Second of all, it’s an honour to be one of the experts writing this nonsense here. To be honest. I feel this is the first time that a real expert is writing here, and no, I’m not talking about the other two dudes. Because
Third of all, I’m truly insulted if I’m compared with borkos000 and langhe. If this is supposed to be some sort of a joke, like “Let’s take the worst managers in the history of sokker to make some stupid comments”, I should be replaced with mrs_gabbage. Then you would’ve chosen the all-time bottom three. Now I feel like Real Madrid playing in the Finnish Veikkausliiga.
Tell me 3 teams that are most likely to win this WC and why do you think so.
Poland is always to be mentioned. Well not always, but whenever they have a decent manager as the coach. I suppose ale70 is decent. The quality of the players is super strong.
Same story with Romania, insane quality of players. Romania has a really tough group though, so there lies a chance for a huge suprise. Still those two abovementioned teams have so many good players, that it doesn’t matter if the best striker is in bad form or the best winger is injured. There’s plenty to take their place. It’s not the same for a small nation like Suomi.
Who is also the third team I set as one of the favourites. Suomi is always strong and with some luck (good forms, no injuries, luck with the draw in the playoffs) we might do it. Again.

I really hope not. I’m not aware of the number of the users in other countries. What I know is that we used to have some 600-700 users in the past in Finland and now way less than 100 active ones. So obviously the amount of youth pulls, the amount of good youth pulls and the amount of domestic trainers has declined a lot. I guess the same thing has happened in all of the countries, so the smaller ones are likely to suffer more than us middle sized. What is sad is that this might lead to the biggest countries becoming overwhelming. We’ll see.

I think France has a good quality in their offense. They might go surprisingly far in this edition. So far 18 NT coaches sent their answers and some of them promised to do it later this week. Big thanks to those who replied and, above all, to the three experts who supplied me with their magnificent expert previews. But because they are not able to unanimously decide who is expert and who is not, there is a poll that will determine it. Vox populi, vox dei. :D
