Agree, next time we can make this happen.
If we played at Australia home, it probably would have been a W/O to Australia as Israel still hadn't called up new players yet. Would have hated to have won that way.
And looking through a number of the U21 NT matches, there were plenty of W/O, as there is every season

Israel called up new players yestorday after age update, why you are writing that bullshit? If the final could be played in Australia this same things could be done earlier.
I agree that final should be played before age update, because we had much better players and the "revenge" should be more interest.

Congrats to winners Israel and hard luck Australia. This was a very close Asian Cup and it was refreshing to see some of the lower ranked teams punching above their weight, even though we were at the receiving end in one of the games lol. Looking back, it would've been better if India had gone to the quarter finals since Indonesia who qualified in our place gave a walkover to the opponent in the quarters.

If there is still enough interest in running an U21 Asian Cup (different format), I would be happy to host a thread to run it.
The aim would be to finish prior to the current group of U21 players aging (as this has been an issue in the past), so would need to start earlier/straight knockout rounds. This means starting in approximately week 8
I would try to make sure all teams who registered would get to play, but based on numbers, if a couple of teams had to miss out, the current AFC and Oceania teams would get first priority to places.
This is just to get an idea of how many interested teams we have at present, not an official sign up

Just giving this a little bump before giving up on it completely. If we can get 6 teams, we can make it happen with two round robin groups of 3. More teams would be better, but 6 I think is the minimal to make it meaningful
