Subject: [DEV] International Cup
Why is it spam?If a team take part to the highest level of international cup sponsors must pay more money per week and also audience at official matches must be 20% more than other matches and for my opinion it depends from the level that one team play

That's fine, but perhaps only for some positions. If your fans demand the championship and you achieve it, it shouldn't be considered a goal accomplished or exceeding expectations, as is the case now. I think in this instance it should be a great success. Achieving the goal isn't the same as your fans demanding sixth place versus winning the championship. Given the ticket restrictions, this is perfectly understandable.
Yes, I agree, but that doesn't concern International Cup, we can open a different thread about Sponsors / League expectations and talk such things there.
IMO it's much more important to talk now about the fact that they decided to leave injuries exactly as they were before even though they are adding an additional official match weekly.
This is a scandalous, terrible idea which will make the whole competition useless for most users. I can't understand why they want to sabotage a newly added feature.
New competition means more chances for injury and higher demand for wider squad. They SHOULD lower the injury chance / injury lenght and add extra +1/+2 training slots. That would with time make the new competition work.
What they decided to to is to make the whole competition pointless. It's not important at all so there is no point to risk league (which makes up 80%+ of supporters mood and brings most of money via sponsors / tickets). For most people the only decision will be to use the IC as a place for training.
A perfect example of how even a great idea gets destroyed when it is badly done.

Yes indeed, I will use trainees only in IC also.
That is the problem of sokker, changes are worked out for 50% only.
This way the game is getting worse instead of getting better.
Years ago sokker mentioned the game would be more competitive, in het meanwhile it went the opposite way.

Indeed. It's as if their process was "we have a good idea how to improve the game, now let's figure out how to make it annoying for the users so they don't enjoy it".
I am afraid I agree 100% with you regarding this point. I am sure many users will put their second/junior teams in these IC games since the most important competition (by far) will be the national leagues, for fan mood, money and importance. In the end the high risk and low gains is not justifying using the main squad in this new IC.
I was hoping they will replicate the Uefa Champions League format that is really great and one of the most important competition/distinction annually.

so it is

I think it will be like any game with multiple competitions (including sokker with national league and national cup).
People will make decisions that they think are best for their team.
They may focus on just the national cup as they know they won't win the league.
They may focus on the international cup, because they have no competition in their country
They may focus on the international cup, because they have won everything else
They may focus on the national league, because they have not won that before and they draw hard teams in the national cup and international cup
They may focus on all 3 and see how well they can do overall, or start by playing all seriously and drop one or two based on poor results.
This is not new for sokker. People have been prioritising league over cup, or cup over league for 20years. The added competition does not change this, it just gives people a new experience, and new goals in the game.
Overall, we all have opinions, good and bad, about all things sokker. Some a fair or unfair, some are preferences, but in the end, it is the game.
I personally don't like so many games per week, and would prefer just the 1 league game in the week, especially with the IC coming. I also don't think the IC should be cup but rather league format, but at least the devs decided to go a bit of both to make sure every team got a few matches. I don't like that injuries haven't been changed to compensate the additional minutes.
I do like there is a new competition format. I do like being able to play teams from other countries, even if we aren't all on a level playing field financially. I do like the different challenge even though long term, I will drop levels in the IC. I do like cheering on as a country, my fellow Australians as we succeed or fail, as a nation. I like that it gives large and small nation users another opportunity to win some trophies (as the biggest, and really only, downside of being in a large nation is you are unlikely to ever win a major prize).
I hope they put appropriate emphasis on IC matches in regards to how it affects sponsorship and fanclubs, as if it were a sole competition, it negates a good chunk of the advantages of large nation size, but as 1 of three competitions, it softens the advantage/disadvantage a little.
But these are all my opinions, and everyone will have different pros and cons. But know that there are a range of opinions, and if someone doesn't want to play in a certain competition, that is fine. Afterall, this is a management game, and being able to manage the team across multiple competitions is actually very important

I also like the fact that there will be a new competition, I've been very optimistic, but now it's hard not to be angry or deluded.
They promised they will analyse the injuries and adjust them after the season in arcade mode, that was the whole point of it. Now they are saying that they did no analysis and just decided that they don't care and will keep the injuries as they were, while adding extra 90min/week. This is terrible.
They will also add ZERO importance to the new competition because it won't be included in the season expectations. Basically it will be another national cup game - it will ONLY affect your "recent matches satisfaction". No real impact on sponsorship, fanclubs, everything will still depend on the league and league expectations - which means that it only makes sense to concentrate on the league and ignore national cup / international cup or both. Because by far most teams won't be able to compete in so many competitions.
In my view it is terrible that they spent so much time to create a competition which could have been great and fun, but due to their decisions will become pointless for most users and just a space to get easy training so it's easier to play in league - where results will matter.

There will be a very slight reduction of income for those 50% that do not get our of the group stage of the IC but not by much.
20% reduced income from matches is:
0.2 x 11 (league matches)
0.2 × 1 (cup match - for 50% users)
= 0.2 x 12
= 2.4matches worth of income lost.
50% of teams will receive 3 extra matches (from the IC) at 0.8 gate receipts of the current attendance.
3x 0.8 = 2.4matches worth of income gained.
Now for every match made further in the IC, there is a 0.8 match addition to money, but there is still the 20% off in friendlies too.
For every match made further in the national cup, the 20% makes a bigger difference than the addition of the base 3 IC matches.
So overall, it's actually pretty similar for the majority of teams in sokker, with no more than a 1 match gain/loss of income. It's easy to see why they came to the conclusion of 20%

I agree with most of what you said (I'm not as pessimistic as your last paragraph though, but do see where you are coming from).
From reading between the lines, my guess for their reluctance to changing the injury frequency is all down to one, maybe two devs saying no. Whether they don't care, whether they don't see the problem, whether they want more injuries, who knows, but I get the feeling that having no reduction in injuries is not a popular decision even among leadership groups
I agree that as it stands, financially from the baseline side of things (sponsorship etc) it doesn't make sense to not focus on the national league. But people play for other reasons too.
I still look forward to it, but yes the injuries will be hard to manage, and most people in the game see that duration and frequency if injuries should be reduced when adding in a new competition

One potential problem is the lengthy nature of group matches. For example, a team might have lost its chance to qualify but field a completely reserve team for a crucial match that will determine the group's fate. Yet, in a match that will affect group leadership, they had a full squad against their previous opponent.
That happens in the league as well. Nothing can be done about that.
Managers will do what's best for them.

I agree also with reducing money from tickets. I am sure that we will have prize money so in the end everybody will gain more then this season.
For injuries its not good to just stay as it is, but also some teams are just playing with 12 competitive players and hoping that season goes good. More players need to be involved in one team.
Maybe would be good to adress injuries in a way to speed up recovery for youger players, old ones like 29+ can stay as it is.
Main problem with injuries is that you train players and 2 weeks by 17y old is one skill. 2 weeks by 27y old isnt big issue for training, mote issue for results, but everyone should have back up in reserves for team results.
I hope schedule will be something new. If all games are stucked at the beginning of the season then they didnt do anything and propper answer to that would be one more season as arcade...

Main problem is that they were promising to make playing for results / competitive to be more fun and less problematic. They promised they will instead limit the advantages of farming in low leagues etc.
Instead most of they changes they did actually made farming easier / more profitable, while they make playing competitively more and more demanding with each change while giving no new tools to manage those difficulties.
Now they are adding an additional competition, which increases number of injuries and increases impact of every injury (years ago 2 weeks of injury meant missing 2-4 games, now it will mean missing 6-8 games).
Yet they give NOTHING that can make the teams adapt to that. You can't train more than 10 players, you won't get more money to buy more players and even if you did - the prices would increase so you will still be able to afford same number of players. You have the same team as before, you can train same number of players as before, you have same money in the account but they expect you to be able to play in one more competition.
And even if we imagine that people would start buying high quality players #14-#20 to compete on many fronts. Where will they get them, who will produce them? The number of trained players is limited to overall number of trainings slots being used. In current game situation you simply CANNOT create more players to allow teams to have more quality players. There is no way to do that.
It's a broken mechanic. They're adding a new competition that most people won't be able to play and enjoy because the only sensible decision for them will be to concentrate on league and train in friendly + IC. And this makes the whole competition pointless.

more money maybe wouldn't help to buy better players, yes, but it would help to afford higher wages, i wouldn't underestimate that.
and I hated the moment when hattrick forced me to tear off parts of my stadium, now that moment might come in sokker too. Very sad.
