What is going on ? For me it is now almost impossible to play the game because of these adverts , it is constant.
Every single time I click on anything an advert pops up , when closed another one pops up again almost immediately.
Is there a way I can stop this from happening WITHOUT buying plus ? Because as it stands I can't play the game any more because it's far too much of an effort trying to keep closing adverts

a week ago I posted this subject in linguist forum, not for the first time. Imho the biggest mistake by the Devs - not everyone wants to use an adblocker and we lose all newbies without adblocker for sure. The little money for clicks can't replace the lost money from potential users. Incomprehensible for me.
I agree. If someone joins this game and sees all those adverts it has vibes of a sketchy website with popups of "hot neighbours in your vicinity" and I would close the website after 5 seconds and then never return again.
No ads (or limited) during first 4 seasons (an irl year) could make that new users take "plus" during the number five ...

Persistent ads only pop up on old pages. New views do not have this problem (I think?). At least that's what I was told when I reported the issue some time ago.
However, no changes were made, with the explanation that the new views are fine and their introduction will solve the problem.
And that would be true if these changes were delivered at a faster pace. But the pace of work means that the problem will persist for a long time to come.

As a “non-plus” user, without an ad blocker it's simply unplayable.
Not only do the massive ads destroy the interface, but closing the full-page ads bring us back to the home page, which prevents us from accessing certain features (such as replying on the forum :-)
Ultimately, I don't even see a business advantage for the owners. Either a customer uses an ad blocker, or he leaves a game that is horrible to use.

I'm at the point where I'm going to quit after 20 years of playing . Simply because I can't do anything for the adverts . They just never stop , sometimes there's multiple on the same page and it's impossible to do anything because of them .
I also don't have an ad blocker and won't get one because I'm stuck in my ways haha
But please , just quit with the harassment of adverts . What a bad mistake to do this
