haha all these are awsome. I try to say them and i sound like a dumb ass. Yes soccer is stupid name i agree. soccer sounds like a little girls game.
Assocciation Football is where it comes from. To distinguish it from all the other types of football that sprung up at around that time. Just a common name for it back then.
as opposed to Rugby football, "created" by Rugby University (?) in England.
I think it was a "school" ... quite prestigous and famous, but not a Uni.
I've heard that in German that "eszet" can be written with two S..

It was Eastern of German where people talked a little different than others.
Anyway.
In Estonian as said alrady sokker is Jalgpall.Vutt or Jalka in people talk.
Officaly its Jalgpall.
