Subject: II World War

2008-08-16 21:26:33
The only things my school books told me is that the first country that was invaded was Poland in 1939, and that in 1940 Holland got invaded in a few days. Furthermore, there was a single page about the iron curtain, but I dont know anything about it since our teacher and the book itself did not put emphasize on it.

The rest was about Anne Frank, Jewish people who were hidden, people who illegally made newspapers and copied id's, how Hitler became powerful. ( according to that book people thought that he would help Germany become economically more stable but actually he did the opposite)

About Russia nothing until a few chapters later where things were told about stalin, rasputin and so on... nothing positive about russia though...

and cold war of course...

Yeah, I bet that you know better? :] please, just read this.

It was an accident, but it did happen. It doesn't mean that our cavalry was sent to attack tanks, they just had to fight when they got approached. The tanks were supposed to be far away, but Germans were slowed down by something and crossed roads with our forces. so can u please shut up when u have not idea about something?.

I know it took the Germans 18 days to take over Belgium and 4-5 for the Netherlands. ANd that our king stayed during the war.
I'm proud of the Belgians who fought at that time, because are armory was far inferior to the german.

What i know about Russian is that they wasted their "mobile reserves"(troops). Millions of them got killed and the politic commissars were draconic, there was only one way and that was the way to the lines of the enemy.
They won luckily for them.

After that there was a "lost" generation cause they were lacking men.

(it's in short)

i know that the polish hated the germans and the polish armour was a great factor in defeating the germans

Poland also lacked men, especially intelligence - poets, politics, scientists etc. because they got killed in the German attack and Russing 'liberation' process which meant raping, murdering and other nice things.

Also almost all of our best soldiers got killed, especially in Katyń. You can read about it here and believe me it's worth it.

As for our soldiers, despite getting beaten we fought in France, Great Britain, Monte Cassino.

Our scientists were able to decrpyt enigma.

As for Battle of Britaint, our no. 303 Polish Fighter Squadron helped A LOT. Just take a while and read the link.

These are the most important things.

OK listen, THE REAL II WORLD WAR DIDNT STARTED JUST GERMANY, BUT ALSO RUSSIA, BOth conquered Polska. And it wasnt "freed" by russians but conquered.

besides about how germny attacked Russia: Russia knew about the attack, and they had 3x more soldiers, a lot better artillery etc, they were better at army. But they abandoned every weapon(tanks, every machine) and at the start people from the west RUssia were glad to see how : Hitler is making"free" those people so they helped a bit germans, but when they saw what have dont germans they were with russian. So RUSSIANS made special this : "surprise attack", and let the germans to take some territory.

And do not think that german was an aggresor, but at that time was the war between 2 very first aggresors: russia and germany.

the end(dont have time to write :) )

Of course that Russian was an agressor, no doubt about it :) My 'liberation' was just an irony :)

its just the mentality of russians,
most of them has very agressive personality,
you dont even want to know how often i got a annoying answer when i worked in russia for 3 months, actually i supposed to be there for 6 months,
but after 1 month i felt sooooo lonely i could not be there any longer so after 3 months i sayd i cant take it anymore so went back to Netherland.

thats why i also did not pass this year :)

now you can imagine how hard it was for me and it was in winter..

I have respect that you even dare to go to Russia, I wouldn't do so... Never...

Yep, these comissars had to "boost the morale" of the troops.
The thing I especially remembered was executing a random chosen soldier in front of the others to make them fight more brave..

There was even a rule. If you see someone deserting the fighting field your duty is to kill him. Sick country :)

to prevent chaos :)

if one run we all follow,
if one run and he will be shot,
we fight rule in army, im sure it was also in oyure country.

i think its very good rule.

Yeah, I do it all the time. When I wait for the bus, and I see someone running away from me, I shoot him too. I'm too afraid people will follow him and leave me all alone :(
