Subject: Snow

I just love snow! Today we got about 30 cm of snow, making the total about 40 cm.. In other parts of Norway there is already almost a meter of snow.. There is a looong way to the record though, it has been measured over 3 meters of snow in Oslo, and more than 5 meters of snow in other parts of the country. That's a lot of snow..

So, how about you? Do you like snow? Is there any snow where you live? :)

I repeat, I love snow! ;)

me 2 @ snowlovers ;)

but here nearly all has melted away, its about 0 - +2°C at night.. so .. too warm ..
although here in vienna it does not snow very often, but sometimes .. usually 2 or 4 times per winter Vienna gets in large parts white..

That's too bad.. :(

Normally in Oslo, the snow only lies for a week or so at a time, but this winter there has been snow continually from the middle of November to now, and with this weather (-5 and heavy snow) it seems like it will be white a long time, it might even be snow on the ground in Oslo until the end of February, and that's really rare.. :)

According to the norwegian meterological society, the deepest snow ever measured (in a measuring station in Norway) on flat ground is a staggering 511 cm of snow. That means that if a guy stood on the ground, with two persons on his shoulders above, the guy at the top would just have his head above the snow..

Snow in Estonia too... currently we have a cold period.. we have like -25 to -35 celsius. Schools are canceled and we have snow. Dunno if I like snow.. it's a bit slippery, but i can manage :P snow is neutral for me.. not good, not bad... average ;)

btw, i'm freezing atm :S

-edit-
and before the cold striked, we had like -5 to -10 celsius... because of sucha quick and big temperature change it is very, VERY cold cause we aren't use to it :S

-25 to -35 celsius is slightly too cold for my liking.. A week or two ago we had -20, and that was about as cold as it usually gets during a winter, at least in Oslo.. In inland parts of Norway it could easily get below -30 during a winter, and in Kautokeino (Finnmark) a couple of winters ago it was -51 degrees celsius. At that temperature, if you throw a pot of boiling water in the air, the boiling water freezes to snow before it hits the ground..

:D

Don't you eat that yellow snow.. ;)

eventually the piss will unabsorbe and the guy holding them will get piss all over him... that's like politics - the ground status of the societys gets cold and pissed on :P
2006-01-20 03:49:51
You mean like pissing your pants to keep warm? That's a bad idea.. ;)
2006-01-20 03:51:38
no, i mean that the piss will get to the guy holding them eventually ;)...

and yes, pissing yourself to keep warm, is a bad, BAD idea, as the piss frozes :D

In Argentina only snows in the south and in winter, not where i live. I´ve only seen snow 2 times once i was in Boston and another in Bariloche a beatifull argentinian southern city.

Youre very mistaken here.

Be sure to ALWAYS eat the yellow snow.

After all, it could be whisky.

;)

It only snows 1-2 times a year in some places in New Zealand..

You got some rather big mountains in Argentina - it must snow round those parts a fair bit.
