you need to put the Asus near the ear to hear the coller working. its slinet, its not loud( i mean the keyboard) has options like: super high performance, high performance save battery , etc modes for Asus i mean.

i take my asus to university daily and till now no problems, using it for 2 months and never given me a prob :)

I have the Gateway LT3100.
It's awesome.
--250gb disk
--2gb RAM
--11.6 screen.

The only problem is the ugly Windows Vista, which I removed and installed ubuntu.

I think Toshiba NB-205 is quite a good choice as it can work on battery for about 9 hours :)

Got myself an MSI Wind. So far I like it, it has a big enough keyboard, decent speakers and works quite fast. Touchpad is fine although I'm scrolling with the pgdn pgup because the touchpad scroll isn't too good. Anyway, I like it :)

...after 4 years I've changed from MSI Wind u120 to Asus T100 transformer. In short - it's magical :-)

It's a hybrid of a netbook and tablet. You need to write? You use the keyboard. You want to use it as a tablet? You detach it from the keyborad and voila, a tablet...:)

It's fast, it's silent, it's whatever I need. Works on Win 8.1 - you can use the applications or switch to typical windows system with icons etc. So far I'm loving it - and the best part is that it's quite cheap, only 399$...

Best part - the battery, according to the official info, should last around 11 hours when fully charged. Now according to my weekend testing it lasts more like...13-15 hours. I charged it at friday ~8 pm. Next time I charged it was yesterday during night, just because I needed it ready for today - there was still around 30% of the battery left...

Just one question.

Why would you want to tho? I dont see any use for a tablet over a regular laptop.
But other than that, seems like pretty good.

It's useful for example in public communication, or in general, to read news/watch videos when keyboard is not useful :)

in general tablets are much 'quicker' and easier for some stuff, like facebook/mail/checking news headlines due to apps and the fact that you can turn it on in one second [when it's "on hold" not turned off]

also easier to hold without the keyboard:)

I'm checking the battery and I don't know if a normal person would be able to use reach a point when it needs charging...turned it on at ~4:30 pm, it's working all the time [reading, music, movie] and it still 83% loaded

compared to netbook it's an amazing difference

also the charger is just a bit bigger than a smartphone charger
