I suppose, technically, for Wales, you have the Eisteddfod which is one of the largest cultural festivals in Europe, pfft, its a load of crap.

As usual ... 3 days of metal at graspop metal meeting. At last I'll see Twisted Sister :p

So you planning some already for next year? Which one? :)

any of you belgian mofos been to Werchter/Pukkelpop?
2012-10-21 21:55:33
Pukkelpop years ago. Never going to Werchter, not my kind of atmosphere and way too much crappy music.

Pukkelpop years ago. It was awesome.

I was at Werchter last couple of years. Even more awesome. Great bands coming there. Best performance I've ever seen in my life was at Werchter 2010: Muse.

I hope The Killers will be at one of those 2 festivals this year.

I went to several festivals (Arras, Pukkel, Summerfestival,...)
Pukkelpop was my least favourite (lazy crowd) and i don't like there is only 1 stage that is in open air

I like Pukkelpop for the same reason you hate it. I like the laid-back atmosphere of the crowd, really relaxing. I don't need some over-active junkies to waste my beautiful relaxing day :)

I don't mind the stages not being in open air. This is common for almost all festivals with multiple stages.

I went to Creamfields this year, but I don't like swimming so I came back.

when will the tickets to pukkelpop be sold out? or do they sell 1 day tickets or smthn on the day of the festival as well?
You can only buy them online. You'll need to be quick, tickets are often sold out after few hours.
2012-10-22 18:25:13
usually takes a couple of days ... 1 day tickets may sell out faster if there is an epic headliner (like Pearl Jam on Werchter last year).

Don't know where you guys have been living, but Pukkelpop tickets aren't sold out that quickly.

5 years ago I decided to buy tickets only a few weeks in advance. Last year, if I remember well, it was sold out in June. Most of the names are released in April or May, so you'll have a couple of weeks to consider buying a ticket. One day tickets may sell out faster if there's an 'epic headliner'.

Werchter tickets were available from December 2011, and it wasn't until April 2012 (-ish) before it was sold out.

This year, some tickets (maybe for one specific day) were sold out in a couple of hours.

I don't like it because the Marquee of pukkel has very often very good names.
I could never enter the tent because it was full. So if your not in the tent it's just like your watching a concert on tv without the atmosfere.

It's really relaxing to chill on the terrain that's for sure, but i mean when a band starts to play i was almost every times the first to clap along (that's not over-active i hope) :p

In arras for example there was a huge flash mob wit 50 people (but it wasn't organised)
It was just 5 weed dudes :p dancing and everybody danced along

that are things i missed on pukkelpop ;)
