Gaza Strip: Children hurt as Israel strikes tunnels
The children were injured by shrapnel from an Israeli strike on tunnels, medics said
Two Palestinian children have been injured by Israeli air strikes on smuggling tunnels between Gaza and Egypt, Palestinian medics say.
Two other air strikes hit facilities used by Islamist militants, Gaza's governing Hamas group said.
The air strikes came after at least seven Israelis were injured during rocket attacks from Gaza on Sunday.
Cross-border violence between militants in Gaza and Israel has escalated in recent days.
Palestinian sources say the injured boys were brothers aged seven and 10.
Israel said its air force hit "an arms factory, a site of terrorist activity and a terrorist tunnel in the north of the Gaza Strip, and a smuggling tunnel in the south of the Strip".
Israel holds Hamas responsible for all rockets attacks from Gaza, even if - as in recent days - those attacks are carried out by other Palestinian militant organisations.
Three grad missiles landed in southern Israel on Sunday morning, one of them destroying a house in the town of Netivot.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned that militants who attack Israel "have paid a price in the past for these crimes, and they'll pay a price again".
Last week, six Palestinians whom Israel said were preparing rocket and bomb attacks were killed in air strikes on Gaza.

NowhwreMan...it is that resposibility what I was talking about. You can not kill innocent by semirandom attacks. Use technique to find enemies, or announce destroying tunnels in whole area long time ago and be sure there are not civilians. I dont see diference between coffee rest. attack or this. I just can not read every weak such a world news :(

Tjah ... no more words needed I think :/

2 nice articles I found. This one is about the us - israel relations, a really up-to-date article with the current us elections mentioned in it. I have also seen a docu about this subject some time ago, but also this article is very interesting to read: The Myth of the US-Israel Special Bond, by Jonathan Cook (a British journalist based in Nazareth, Israel).
And this one has the perfect answers to NowhwreMan and posts of others, also to prevent the whole discussion starts all over again: 'Ten big media lies' about Israel by Michel Collon (a Belgian journalist and author of the book “Israel, let’s talk about it”)

Great Charles, you've just solved the middle-east crisis from 5000 kilometers doing wikipedia
That second one is interesting. It can be true but NoWhereMan can say it is propaganda.... as usual the truth is somewhere in the middle so the point of conflict Israel-Palestine is not about good and bad, or fist and second or choosen and not choosen, both sides are evil "nations" (no mather that all love their god, both sides are evil by their killing each other and if god exists, I think he will explain it to them very well....)
But I think this has again nothing with news around the world, except that killed Palestine boys above, so I am going end this...

Michel Collon, really?
(I didn't read that article though, just wanted to say that Collon has some ... remarkable opinions concerning for instance Hugo Chavez and the war in Libya.)
Edit: but then again, Collon might be interesting for Rumpil, that's true.

And because of this he ........ I don't know what you want to say about it without having read his article. No one is always wrong (just as no one is always right).

That is true, but if someone has strange points of view they usually tend to stop me from reading anything further.
But anyway, the middle east is a complicated issue.
On the one hand there are extreme muslims and on the other hand there are extreme israelis.
The majority of Israelis is very peace loving though and they do critisize a lot what happens in Israel and with the settlements on land that is basically only occupied by Israel.
But people also have to see that missiles are attacking Israeli ground on a daily basis and the muslim countries around do not really intend to stop that. Plus some of these countries still want to occupy Israeli mainland, eventhough an UN-Charta from 50 years ago claims that as Israeli land. Plus Iran and there Islamistic followers are talking about wiping out Israel and its inhabitants.
It is a difficult issue, very difficult to be precise.
What I am trying to say is that a democratic country has the right to protect its people from danger from the outside if threatened or attacked.
You might discuss how they do it, but not that they have no right to protect themselves.
And basically, all propaganda for one side or the other aside, that is what they do.
I should clarify it even better, but that would take pages.

I think if Israel show weakness( for by example not replying on rocket attacks.) The country's around then will eat them alive as soon as they has the chance.

I Stopped reading this out of disgust.
To clarify that: these were opinions, no facts at all.
Honestly this is really! bad research on the one hand and even worse propaganda on the other hand.
Frankly honest, to agree with this you have to be an ..... and have no idea about history, human life, religion, geography, knowledge of international law, knowledge of a countries budget spending. Well basically, if I would loose 99% of my knowledge I would still be amazed how wrong these few sentences were.
You should discuss something else, THIS is to complicated for you.
