Yes, we are. Fortunately, we are also much less intolerant than non-Catholics are and we are even willing to admit it and apologize. ;)

Saying people who are different from you are more intolerant is intolerance, that is the irony.

(I never said Catholics are intolerant. I say the Catholic Church (as an institute) is intolerant.)

I told you so. That's not intolerance. Intolerance is when you don't allow that someone is different. I am fine with their intolerance. They can't do any better without highly valuing admittance, apology and forgiveness.

On the individual basis, yes. But not when you say one group is definitely better than another group while the factor that splits the people up in the group and 'the others' is totally irrelevant to being a good human or a tolerant human. Factors that are totally irrelevant are religious choice, sexual preference, skin color, ...

I was making a generalization as reply to another one. Have you ever seen or heard a generalization? Generalization doesn't mean that one group is definitely better than another nor that I, as a part of this group, am per se better or worse than anyone in another group.

You think that tolerance is about accepting as equal values that are different than your own. That would mean that a person who doesn't care about own values is the most tolerant one and that's certainly not the case.
Tolerance is the ability to reconcile your own values with different ones and, in many examples, that is unfortunately simply an impossible task. Unless of course you give up on your values which leads us to the mentioned "anything goes" person.

It is kinda cool. It uses in psychology the well known Forer effect. ;)
