Subject: R.I.P. Nelson Mandela: 1918-2013
Nelson Mandela has sadly passed away tonight at the age of 95. One of the greatest to ever step foot on this planet, what he managed to do despite the circumstances that surrounded him in South Africa.
The World has lost a great man.
R.I.P.

Sad, and I must say I was very surprised that he was 95 years old. I thought he was younger than that.
One of the greatest indeed. RIP :(
Have to say I'm bit surprised that theres only four posts in this topic..

Well, it's a 95-year old who passed away. Nothing to be sad about if you ask me. (He did great things of course, but such an old person dying is just 'normal'. I also hate the one-sided view on him, like he's some sort of god.)
He was one of most controverse people who are adored. Its ironic that opinion about him is often about black and white.
the more u study him, the more weird things u find..
like about any other Big Person in history

Well, nobody beats Che, no? ;-)

Its more about face, if he would look like me nobody would care about Che:)
So you can't be sad if a loved one died at 95 just because he is old ?
So if someone had cancer and dies at lets say 45 you can't be sad either ? "Well he had cancer it is normal he dies now" ?

I said that it's not abnormal that there were only 4 posts in this topic. Why? Because everyone knew Mandela's health was very poor and the guy was 95 years old. So no, people were not surprised that he died.
Your comparison with a 45-year old dying of cancer is so clearly wrong, I won't even argue.
Apart from that, I don't think Mandela was such a good guy. So no, I will not mourn for his death. Comparing him with people like Gandhi (like some media are doing) is just insulting towards Gandhi. This is Mother Teresa all over again, making a saint of someone who - when looking at the facts - clearly isn't. However, Mother Teresa was evil, so I don't want to compare her with Mandela.

When someone loved dies, it's always sad, no matter how old they were.
Death is part of life. So no, the death of an old person because he was old is not sad. In some cases, death is even a relief (someone who was in permanent serious pain). How could relief be sad?
Stalin was probably loved too. His death was not sad. His death was a gift for humanity.
Just to show that death is not always sad.
