actually there are some nations quite into these Olympics
I never watch them though, I don't even watch the regular Olympics...:p
well ski jumping is fun...cause we win sometimes...:P and you only have to watch like 5 minutes of it :p
if I were to watch the biathlon for hours...ugh...so boring, I'd rather be sleeping

And into Futsal WC as well.
My impression, though, is that both regular WC and regular Olympics are followed by millions everywhere, even if their countries have little chance of success, if participating at all. Winter Olympics, on the other hand, seem to attract only the attention of those nations likely to perform well, hence the comparison with Futsal (but you probably can find other examples).
I guess "who runs faster" or "who jumps higher" types of competition are more universal than "who dance the nicest" or "who zigzags wearing highly specialized equipment better" types of competition :P
And into Futsal WC as well.

3 billion people (estimation) will watch the Winter Olympics, so a little more as you probably expect ;)

You would think so, but this an achievement only managed once before in Olympic history in the 5,000m, by the Norwegians in 1964.
ok, all medals is not that obvious, I merely meant a Dutch guy winning it :)
That's true, but still all had to go as plan because others are not that far away (in this case 2 other Dutch :P). I hope he can win the double, 5000m and 10000m
