go go SERBIA !!!
2009-01-18 20:43:27
Serbia - Denmark 14 - 8 ole ole
2009-01-18 20:53:43
Very powerful start by Serbia. Can they go all the way against Denmark? The Danish defense have lost a few players so they are not as strong as they used to be. But the team is a bit faster now...
2009-01-18 20:54:42
20:13 go Srbija
2009-01-18 21:10:40
Poland - Russia 24-22

Szmal, polish goalkeeper was awsome...
2009-01-18 21:42:45
Denmark came from 23:30 to 30:30, but now I don't know what the score is. Cardinals - Eagles started so no more handball for me ;-)
2009-01-18 21:53:32
I changed channel to see the clock at 59:57 and Denmark scoring the winning goal with one second remaining! My timing is brilliant! :-D
2009-01-18 22:16:27
Tomorrow Poland vs Tunesia;)
2009-01-18 23:27:16
I changed it 5 minutes before. Oh my god... that was exciting. Nice that we came out as winners. Almost reminded me of that EC match where Mikkel Hansen scored from a free throw at 60:00 and made us win. But with an match against Brazil and the match against Serbia, I have a hard time seeing Denmark winning the whole tournament.

Can anyone explain why are so many Serbian players playing in other national teams? (I believe Karabatić is Serbian (his passport says France...), but Pulzejević and Eklemović are for sure, who are in the Hungarian team; sorry if I did not get every ´/ˇ right)

there is alot of that kind of stuff and it is often for serbs, bosnians and croats, not only in handball.

mostly it happens cause people from these states go to work to some other state where wages are better. then they start a life, have a kid there.. some of them marry a girl/man from those countries, their patriotic feelings fade away and they even don't learn their kids their language sometimes.

the best known examples at the moment are maybe, bojan krkić, barcelona - serbian
zlatan ibrahimović, inter milan - bosnian and there are numerous more of these cases

The Danish sports papers are always looking for a "Danish Zlatan", because they think that players from the Balkans have more temper and arrogance on the pitch (like Zlatan *lol*) and will do better at international level. Maybe they are right - who knows :-p

well you have young footballer called nikola sarić

he is playing for liverpool at the moment. born 1991 in bosnia, but as the situation is developing we here in serbia are hoping that he will choose to play for our national team
2009-01-19 03:16:32
Yes actually, that's true! I hadn't heard of him before he signed for Liverpool, so I don't know how good he is...
2009-01-19 09:16:19
Well, I know about these cases (or Neven Subotić (Serbia-USA), Daniel Majstorović (Serbia-Sweden), Dušan Djurić (Serbia-Sweden), but Pulzejević and Eklemović have moved to Hungary already as players (I think Pulzejević has even played for Serbia before) and chosen the Hungarian national team. Is the handball-perspective in Serbia low? I mean, Pick Szeged, one of the two main Hunarian handball teams has 70% Serbs in the team and plays regularly in the Champions league. I wonder why Serbian club teams cannot emerge if they can produce good players?
