Subject: »[BUG] average rating calcul + create coach's rank

Since an eternity, there is this bug ...
Average rating after the match is actually calculated by additonning all rating's players what ever few minutes they played.
It were no so difficult to make an weighted average calcul, pro rata minutes played for each player.
So rating where no more foolish when some player played just few minutes with a final debil rate as it's usual ...

So rating where a better system for promoting ranking after a match than using only two team's ranking about that.

Or we could create a ranking's coach about this rating matches!
It were another ranking , used with the actual ranking's club !!
It were used for all matches, friendlies and juniors matchs too :-)

Example: Team A (rating 52) win again Team B (rating 58)
Ranking up for x pts for team A's coach and down for y pts for team B's coach ranking
idem for draw ...

i used already a formul for that, with friends on sokker ...
But actual rating is often bad evaluated ... So our formul need too conditionnal patches :-(

First phase, make average rating match calcul better (as asked on this post)
Second phase i will propose my formul (tested and approoved!) for a coach ranking's creation :-)

But...

There s some cases too where a player play 90' but is not active during a game, so he's evaluated for very few actions. (eg. GK when the opponent dont shot at goal, or winger which play against 5def and not 4def ... ). Rating also depend on both strategies and opponent strength, globally. (usually a stronger opponent mean less rating than usual for your team).

For these reasons it would be better not to take the ratings into consideration for ranking calculation.

About ranking.

First, it seems that diff goals overrated the ranking.

Second, it seems that the ranking gain is not very different regardless of the opponent's ranking (higher or lower). If you cumulate with the first point, it's logically safer to play against lower ranking (expected win and more expected goals for)

Certainly something like the the Elo rating system (used by many video games) is better. We just have to take into account win, draw, loss and not goals.

Does it matter how many ratings your team reaches? It's just another statistical number. It doesn't ad to your teams strength...
