Look at transfers page and "staff", not "players". The auction has been completed. You don't have to take this coach into your team.

I don't understand. I think someone else bought him but the notification didn't disappear from my office

until they bring him in the club or the transfer is cancelled he will be there, just like players....

Unless you click the x button, which can be done on outbid offers, also before deadline

X button is in transfers view. But not in the office view. He disappeared from transfers view but not in the office view.
