* Today was the start of the qualification games to the road to the World Cup.
The opponent, India, ranked 63rd, was a decent adversary for the first game. The first half was quite balanced, our mids trying to find ways to assist our strikers, but with not that much luck.
The last 20 minutes were much better, there was more efficiency into our strikers finish.
Our defs are quite squeaky into the defence. We will have to battle hard against Polska, Scotland and Costa Rica.
Next week, Polska, A good defensive is mandatory and quick counter-attacks.
Until next week, happy New Year!

*On Saturday morning game number 2 took place on our home ground.
The opponent was no other than number 1 in World Rankings, Polska.
We fought, we tried our best, but it all comes into the quality of the players. I am upset that I did not try an offensive force with two strikers. My thoughts went to the fact that two wingers can get more balls to Baholo, but it was not enough.
**Matt White was absolutely awesome into the goal-line. Not having Umaga into the mid line was a big loss as for our creation zone.
***Now we must concentrate on the next opponent, Nigeria. We need to score as many goals as possible as to secure a nice goal advantage.

Yesterday afternoon we have met mighty Polska into the 9th group stage match.
I thought this has to be a defensive match with counter-attack play. It did not go our way, Davidson did not make enough and precise passes to our two strikers.
The first half was played excellent, but after receiving the first goal our confidence got down.
Nothing is lost, we still have our chances. A win against India is mandatory and Polska has to defeat Scotland.
Go All Blacks! Go NZ!

So close...India was completely dominated. 26 shots and not a single goal, unbelievable :(

Indeed the domination was intense, but the finalization was low. Many goal chances on our side, but nothing in the net.
I still blame my defensive playing, but the lack of decent defs brought me into the situation of playing low def.
Probably a 532 tactic would have been better today, but the game has passed and nothing can be changed right now.
The sorrow is bitter, but I can't stop here.
In two seasons I want to try again to fight for the WC.

Dear community,
First I want to thank you all for the trust which has been given to me to lead New Zealand this season to the adventure of reaching the World Cup.
Secondly, I want to thank every user from NZ who is training local players.
In the end I want to offer a review of the season which just ended:
We played a total of 11 games, 10 official games and 1 U27 friendly.
Wins: 6 (all official)
Lost: 5 (4 official, 1 U27 friendly)
Goals scored: 25
Goals received:17 (4 in a U27 friendly game)
I consider that the team performed really well against Polska (1-3 and 0-2) and against Scotland (1-4 and 2-1).
Unfortunately, we had the qualification in our hands, but it did not go as planned.
I still believe that this team can do beautiful things and reaching the World Cup in two seasons is possible.
Therefore, please cast you votes here if you would like me to coach New Zealand next season vote in the below link:

Hi guys,
1 win - 1 draw - 1 lost game into the Mini WC Group | we advanced with 4 points from the 2nd place
Played into the next round against Ireland and lost narrowly with 2-1 as to reach the semifinals.
Into the 5th-8th place round we had Russia as an opponent.
A nice comeback from 2-0 and we got the win with 2-3.
For the 5th/6th place we shall meet The Azers.
