Subject: Bargain or Robbed? You decide

2008-08-04 19:47:58
I would have said bargain, but I sold a 20yo for just 3.5k two weeks back - weak pace, good tech, solid striker, but much better secondaries - so maybe ok or slightly robbed (he is 20 after all)

I would say bargain, but it all depends on how long you actually train him for though. If it is only a few weeks before you sell again then I would say robbed, but about a season + then a bargain.

bargain but have to be trained at least 1 season
2008-08-05 15:09:17
Thats what I intend to do, going to extend my pace training for a bit longer as most of my players are still on the zone of poor-good pace when I was targeting for solid+. Thanks for all your views, all noted.

£250k, bought purely as a reserve midfield pace trainee. Bargain or robbed?

Robbed unless trained solidly in pace for 3 seasons.

Thats the plan, switching to just pace training from now on :)

oh great, another phil fox to contend with...
2008-08-06 12:29:17
Hopefully I will get to that level, but may take me a season or two to get anywhere near him! I have shuffled my squad around alot this season, and it doesnt seem to have done any harm to my team so far. I have replaced alot of my older players with better pace trainees, so it will be alot better in a season or two hopefully!!

Its a pretty decent regime to be on, the success largely depends upon the quality of your trainees and selling them at the correct times!

In general though, wants you have got over the pain of the initial massive investment, you will tend to just improve season on season, and at a quick rate.

"Wants"? "Once", surely.

£792k, will be getting pace from now on, should random at least once in each skill in the time that I have him. Has had a very eventful transfer history so far, and he seems to be signed for around the £1m mark all the time. Bargain or robbed?

got this guy for 2k unknown talent, could prove to be a bargain with a couple of pops and some talent

I nearly didnt buy him for that very reason, but it could be that the managers needed money so sold him on, or they changed training and wanted to cash in. But it could be that he is not very talented, but hopefully that isnt the case!!

And you cant go wrong with £2k, so it is a bargain all the way. If he has decent talent and you train him for a while he could turn out a very nice investment.
