Uriah [del] to All
Tomorrow's friendly pits the yanks against a relatively weak side in Ecuador. The South Americans come in ranked 64th.

The United States have no roster limitations and can field a full strength side if they choose to do so and the manager has expressed his desire to score some goals and gain some precious ranking points.

The game is scheduled for Friday evening EST and can be watched here:

As expected the US was able to win and managed to run up the score a little. The Ecuadorean keeper had a great game or the final count would have been even more lopsided.

Impressive performances all around but most promising was the play of junior mids, Maurin, Hamlon and McCathy who will still be in the program next season. McCathy is only 19!

The future of the American midfield is very promising indeed.

Up next is what should be a very exciting U20 match against regional rival Mexico! This will be yet another showcase for the next generation and a preview of what our team might look like during next season's World Cup qualifying.

Like I said in my campaign: It's all about Canada. Now I can retire with a clear conscience.

Seriously though, if I'd known how dumb the ranking points system was I would've just scheduled all cupcakes. We got a lot more points for beating up on a small nation than we did for drawing against some of the really good teams in the top 30, which was much more difficult.

Oh well lesson learned.

On a side note, we're now only 60 odd points out of 32nd, if I can get some results here in the last few weeks who knows where we'll end up...
