As a lot of you know already I'm not running for the U21 manager position next season, I don't have full time internet access at home anymore except on my phone and the demands of scouting and designing a tactic each week for my club team and the national team are too much without it.
I had a great time though and wanted to thank all the managers who helped me out and followed the team the past season. I wish I could have done more, real life never stops demanding unfortunately, but I was really pleased with the amount of interest from the community especially considering that it was just a season of friendlies.
I've really come to enjoy the national team side of the game, just worrying about my club team was starting to get a little old, this experience has helped revived my interest in Sokker despite all the issues I have with the match engine and the glacial pace of development.
So I'm going to stay involved with the NT program as the head scout for whoever wins the management position, keeping the database up to date as much as possible and maintaining some "best-of" lists on the main forum for each U21 position as well as a market thread in the USA association forum.
I would encourage as many managers as possible to get involved in the NT scene, we really need more people to open youth schools, to train an American prospect (or 10!), to offer a few words of encouragement to the manager in the gameday thread, and/or participate in the scouting and tactics discussion in the association forum.
This kind of community project adds another dimension to the game outside of the usual club management that can get old real quick after you've been in the same league for 3+ seasons and faced the same teams over and over. Can't recommend it enough, especially for those feeling jaded.
Thanks again and good luck to the new manager whoever it is, assuming they don't nuke each other during the campaign, lol.
