After NYC, try to get down to the Jersey Shore (Ocean City, Atlantic city for a little gambling, Wildwood for a boardwalk, Cape May).
Also get to Philadelphia, lots of history there (and a Philly cheesesteak - try Geno's)
The Poconos in Pennsylvania are a nice small mountainous get away.
And you are only about 4 hours from Washington DC.

Wahey! A response!
I've done the Jersey Shore - went to Point Pleasant amongst other places.
Also have been to Philadelphia & seen the liberty bell.
Also done DC - really liked DC.
Obviously done lots of new York.
Also been to Niagra Falls & Birmingham, Alabama.
Then we are off to California, Arizona and Nevada in August.
Were going to go to Chicago for Labor day, but have run out of cash.
But will manage Boston in September before we go back to the UK.
Not bad eh!!

You mean you aren't going to get to see the horse races in central Kentucky?
we were thinking of going to kentucky or tennessee but ran out of cash.
I've also been told that I may have to cancel my california trip.

i love arizona. try to make it tucson. when your there no matter what direction you look you see mountains and the skys are like oil paintings. at night i have never seen so many stars as when i was in the desert. plus your then only an hour drive from mexico and cheap liquer...
tuscon is too far away. Going as close as Joshua Tree, then across to Grand Canyon, and up into Utah (to look for some saints) before losing all my cash in Las Vegas.
Nothin like southern california, check out the OC and san diego. theres nowhere else in the world id rather be livin in
I have never been in USA, but some day I will come. I would like to visit L.A:)
You need to come check out the chicken houses in Alabama. They are extra nice this time of year :)
