The Canada - Guadaloupe game was the first one I caught. Canada got of to a great start in the tournament defeating Costa Rica, but looked really uninspired losing to Guadaloupe. Very little creativity.

canada doesnt have much to offer up top their most threatening players has only 7 international goals needs to find a dominant striker
2007-06-10 21:30:03
Arguably Canada's most dynamic offensive player is Jamie Peters (with no disrespect intended towards De Rosario). Peters isn't at the Gold Cup (he's getting ready for the U20 World Cup). He's kind of a Canadian version Aaron Lennon.

You are right, the team needs a dominant striker. Strangely, the Canadian Womens team has one (Christine Sinclair). Perhaps she should suit up. :)
2007-06-10 21:34:16
yea i was gonna say you need a sinclair up there
2007-06-10 21:36:49
Canada has some players that are playing overseas but when it comes to international it seems they cant get past the 0 or 1 goal mark
2007-06-10 23:28:51
I haven't seen the US team yet. Same old crew? Reyna, McBride ...
2007-06-10 23:34:14
mcbride is done internationally =(
2007-06-10 23:41:59
I hadn't heard that. That's too bad. I always thought he was really classy.

dempsey, twellman, donovan, beasley, bocanegra, howard.
wow, out of those up there 4 play in the premier league in England and one used too, or still does.
don't know where dempsey plays
2007-06-11 02:54:09
dempsey plays in the premier league with fulham and reyna retired from international play

the US squad is the strongest team in this competition no doubt about it

dempsey mcbride and bocanegra are all on fulham together. deuce (dempsey) was transfered earlier this year and had the goal that kept fulham out of the relegation zone

weve got three american keepers that start in the prem, and all of them are still second string to keller haha
