fans of the losingest franchise in US sports history.
The Phillies last night lost their 10,000 game in their franchise history, getting thumped by St. Louis 10-2 last night in Philly.
predictably, Philly fans cheered as the final out was recorded, celebrating their epic suckitude, as only Philly fans can :)

baseball really aint my thing......but went to a Philly game last year against the Marlins
baseball's fun given the right conditions.
Condition #1: It can't be over 90 degrees outside. Otherwise you're just sitting out there sweating, probably next to some fat slob that needs a shower.
Condition #2: Beer must be involved.
IMO, watching a baseball game live is way more fun then watching a soccer game live. But I'll say that watching a soccer match on TV is more exciting then baseball.

That's cause with Baseball you can eat and drink without worrying that a soccer hooligan will vomit on you.
or stab you...
not to mention I've been to high leel USA college matches (2 of them) and virtually fell asleep at each one.
Soccer is an odd sport for me in that it's far more 'exciting' to watch on TV then live. Play seems sooo much slower live.
Unlike ice hockey, which is the exact opposite of soccer. Hockey is much more exciting live, it doesn't matter if it's college, minor-league, or professional - then it is on TV.
A rather interesting phenomena.
Now that I've hijacked my own thread, time to un-hijack it :)

I would much rather be at the soccer game then watch it
Live sports always trump TV for me.Well except NBA games now,I'm a former roadie and it's just too loud and noisy and with morons yelling into a mike for me to enjoy anymore, although the dance teams are nice[aja]
i know what he means with sokker tho....
With most sports when you watch it live the action seems to move faster than normal people can move.
Soccer doesn't move fast, it moves slowly. Not that people can't do amazing things with their feet - i certainly couldn't do these things - it just seems slower live then in tv.
Anyway, back to philadelphia sucks, but we still have philly-envy.

I'm definitely envious of the cheesesteaks, no lying there.
New York pretzels are better though.

Actually, those pnuts were not fumbled .. they were muffed.
Fumble and muff are both in the rules and defined differently.
Fumble = possession followed by loss of possession
Muff = mishandling of punt, never having possession.
A fumble may be recovered by the opponent and advanced, a muff may NOT be advanced.
And I have never fumbled a peanut .. if that's what pnut means.
