Remember when Mussina was in the last year of his contract with the Orioles? He stated ON TV that he wanted to stay in Baltimore.

Instead of staying an Oriole and continuing to be their perennial #1, NY offered him double to become their #4.

When an athlete publicly says its not about the money, then what he's really saying is...it's about the money.

How about at the end of last year... they got Abreau, and they made the Phillies take crap because of money. Phils wanted Hughes or Phillips, and the Yankees so no, you will take what we offer (since no one else could really afford Abreau) and you can kick in Lidle (sad story) if you want us to really do it. That is what is wrong with baseball, glad to see the last few years all it has done is age Georgie. But still, the game needs a fix.

I hope they are dismantled and Tampa beats up on them for a decade.
