Subject: Youth Feb. 28 Divine week

As NT manager I comb through people's rosters on a semi-regular basis. When I look at your roster, I usually assume you don't have a youth program. :P Hard to comprehend you've had such poor luck with it.

It doesn't take much for it to turn. Nturn pulled that 16 year old last season that was only ~ adequate ... and then sold him for over 2 million. :)

Hopefully your luck changes.

Thanks for the input, guys. Looks like I've just had a prolonged run of bad luck. But...like in Vegas, you gorra know when to fold 'em! My youth school folds today.

It's tough to know that I now have no chance of producing a national player, but it doesn't seem like I had much chance before! I can always start up again later. I have nothing promising on board now, so I'm not throwing anything valuable away.
For now, I'm gonna take the cash and run!

Just as a point of interest btw, is there anyone else in division II who does not have a youth school or am I the only one?

You could still produce a national player by picking up Canadian youth and developing them:)

Good point. And I'll be looking much closer at Canadians available from now on. Only drawback is that players with good talent and skills are not too likely to be marketed. But...never know, someone may need cash or not want to train what the rookie needs?....Certainly I'll be willing to pay more for a trainable Canuck...

I don't blame you for shutting it down given your results. But another option might be to scale it back. Dump the magical coach, and go with something cheaper (formidable-outstanding?). Cull aggressively. Or go with no coach, but keep some spots open hoping for really short term guys that might be 16.

Hadn't thought about scaling back. Might be an option...
I'm completely shut down now. Right now I just want to stop the financial bleeding!

If I had culled more aggressively in the past, I would have had no graduates! On the bright side, one of my three grads on sale today sold for $6. ;)

At least the club guard dog will be fed then =]

Guard dog was run over chasing a pickup truck last night. If fact, you could say my run of luck runneth over...
