Subject: [NT] deathbymail

Hey guys,
As most of you know, i was the U21 coach last season. Although I didn't do as well as i had hoped, we drew and lost by one goal against Mexico, and had closer games against Germany than they did, even though on average their marks were 6 or 7 higher than ours. At the beginning of last season my midfield positioning was a bit lacking since the ones on my team were very poor, but I feel that I improved alot in that area, as well as in other aspects such as striker movement and especially throw-ins.

My goal for this season would be, obviously, to qualify for the World Cup next season. We have a great team with a strong midfield and quite a few great strikers. The thing that probably sets us back the most from the top countries is the lack of sideskills on our defence, and the fact that we have only one world-class keeper. Ever since I joined this game I have followed our NT so I already know quite alot about the team.
Another of my goals is to play young players in the matches against weaker teams to improve the next generation of NT players.

This season my club has promoted to league II.01, and although i don't ever think I will have a great club, at least for some time anyways (I am horrible at the financial aspect, my current balance is just above -$400 000) I am constantly learning and improving on tactics and the way i play the game, and I think I could take the NT far.

Everybody can notice that you are active manager but your experience is low. It's not your wine.. you are trying to be better, you are creating new tactics, trying styles.. you are still learning it. In my opinion NT Canada need for next season very experienced coach, why? Because maybe is one of the last chances for promoting to World Cup:> We don't know strong will be NT in the future, i believe that will be much stronger and stronger like you.

Sorry for so long comment, i'm newbie on your forum, maybe i don't know everybody and everything about your community but it's my suggestions for you and all users from Canada :)

Well, like I said, I have been watching all our NT games, but I also have been watching other NT's matches, especially this season with the World Cup finals, and I am a very quick learner, so I have learned alot from what I have seen. I have also learned the skills of the players from watching them play or seeing them on the market, since I checked every day for potential U21 players last season, so I know the main weaknesses of our team and our strengths.

It is good to see a Canadian running. You have been the most active manager on the forums recently. Do you have plus?
Here is a question about tactics. What do you think of a really high defensive line and an offside trap? It seems fairly common in international games, but do you think that it works?

To be honest, I only like high defence for goal kicks, since it prevents the other team from getting a chance right away. I found that alot of the goals scored against and for us were breakaways caused by the trap, and against top teams the defence don't have a very good chance of tackling the striker from behind on the breakaway. I've used it against bots and even then i've had a few instances where my players missed the tackle. That being said, I would probably use it a couple times and play with a high defence but not as high as alot of teams play. And I don't have plus unfortunately :(

I think, it would be better for Canada to give Brokus a chance with senior squad, and deathbymail with U21.

Brokus is more experienced at NT level, and next season is very important (it could be hard to stay in 2nd pot for next quals).
In my opinion, the best way is Brokus + Deathbymial having teams, and working togather!

Discussing before every game, analizing tactics and players. After WCquals, and Finals (I hope!) Deathbymail should be ready to handle senior NT.

That's not why I applied for the NT, I didn't even know Deja would be running :)

well that was a part of it :P But mainly I just want to represent Canada and take us to the WC.

Are you kidding ? Sweden is very strong.. Malta is one of the strongest team from fourth box. Of course we are not without chances ;) Tbh way to WC won't be easy but we'll fight :))
