Subject: Australia Cup

The grass type may also contribute. Bots should probably have top level grass, so it's less of an injury risk playing against them.

Yeah pitch conditions should be if not maxed, definitely better than currently.

I'd like bots to match the league average for pitch grass, fanclub and ranking.

And the interesting matches start

Ginger Nuts - CHILE_FC
Cool Runnings - The Comets
Brisbane City - Chelsea.F.C
cisco spurs - Achmids Soul

Saying that, MM vs comets last week had the potential of an upset, and Brisbane City have won the last two rounds despite being the away team.

All have the potential of an upset given teams will be trying to fit in training as well.

Based on 1st teams, CR - Comets would have to be the match of the round, but the GN vs Chile is a pretty big match too.

Cisco will be going full squad as trainees will breeze past their league counterparts. Brisbane City will have to decide whether Cup or League points are more important

My squad will still be weakened by injuries for the Cup QF. I don't think I can beat Comets without a striker.

My line up will depend on results this week.

Could be an upset or two, but I'd expect the top 4 to progress to SF.

It’s also just about the fairest draw for something that’s random too. Top seed got weakest team, 2nd top seed got 2nd weakest team etc. Only switched up for the other two games but it’s still a fair draw for a change. Obviously who uses firsts and who uses 2nds will make a difference. I was fortunate that I had a good league draw that allowed me to put away MM last round, not sure I’ve got as nice a draw now though. Will look into it. I’d love to make the semi finals again and see if I can’t go at least one better than that

Good luck to all in cup.... :) its nice to see you go into it.... in denmark we talk much less about such stuff

I'm now down 4 first team players. So I don't like my chances.
2025-04-06 17:23:16
I copped an injury to my #1 MID today.
I mean, at least it wasn't a striker again. Think sokker has decided to test me to see if I can perform without strong players
2025-04-07 09:40:02
Aren’t you the top seed mate? :P
2025-04-07 13:04:15
Depends who you ask :p
2025-04-07 13:13:32
He's the top of the A-League and has already played the hardest teams, so I'd say so
2025-04-08 07:08:15
I’m a point up on both of you and that’s only because I beat an Achmid side missing 3/4 strikers and because Achmid had to resort to using a trainee against CR in the league and got an unfortunate rng result. I didn’t beat either of the other of the top teams :p.

I’ll take the favourite tag if neither of you two want it but I think if we were being fair here at the start of the season if people were to pick who would win the cup, pretty sure there would be a majority on both of you two and I’d be in the next rung down :p

Nice to be in that discussion that you both feel like I should be favourite :)
2025-04-08 09:51:22
They are afraid :p
2025-04-08 12:54:21
I think he has a pretty good chance TBH
I lost my #1 MID last match, after having already listed a 1st team worthy MID on the TL. Could not believe the timing (All the strikers went down starting the week after I sold my reserve striker who was hardly playing and just losing money).

But with some strikers coming back, assuming there aren't any more losses, I think Chelsea/Achmids/Comets are fairly on par.

I'd probably argue Chelsea are the favourite given match ratings but Comets have the best form going in to it and I comfortably won the league last season, so anyone could twist it however they want and be correct.

Who knows, maybe CR can prove us all wrong if their injuries resolve at the right time. As much as I want to win every match, it's always healthy to see some new faces taking out titles

They’re not really afraid. This stuff goes back years with both of them :p.

It’s also a bit of a continuation of what’s been happening in our league forum.

None of us want the favourite tag because on a good day any of us can beat the rest.

I’d agree I have a good chance (and the best chance I’ve had since coming back) but by every metric possible except for current league position, I’m not favourite.

Agbell has the best side on paper. Achmid probably the best at tactics and historically the cup/league has been split by them since I’ve been back. I am closing in on that which is why this discussion has come up because it hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Let’s see, it’s probably a injustice to exclude CR and Chile from that discussion as they’re both solid sides in their own right.
