Subject: Australia Cup

Cruel way for it to happen, but I thought we deserved a goal in regulation (missed penalty and all). In extra time the red card (21 day injury by the way) was telling as super-sub McDermott found plenty of space up the right and managed to set up another.

Commiserations agbell, but congrats on making it to the final and for being part of a memorable (at least for me) cup final.

Congrats on winning the final mate, it makes me look pretty good only going down 2-1 to you in the semi :P

Well firstly I need to say congrats to Napthali on winning the Australian Cup.


However (with no disrespect intended to Napthali) I am majorly peeved as I feel the better team lost on the day.
I thought my tactic was well researched and worked well in containing his strengths (Rex did a tidy job on Croxall). I don't think it's unrealistic to think that I should've been 2 goals up after the first half as I created several golden chances.
On the flipside Bednarski did a good job for Tribe skinning my left back time after time but he was never able to provide good service to his strikers.


The red card looked like it was going to be curtains for me despite my 1-0 lead. But after 89mins I thought it was reasonable to start celebrating but the 90th min goal from Tribe to level the match was devastating.

But that's the nature of the sim.

Edit: Also important to note I have only watched the game once. No doubt a more indepth post-mortem to come.

I really don't see why you can be arguing, especially after how you beat Roar last week. I thought you were fairly even throughout the match, and I think really you should have been maybe at most 1 ahead at half time, but after half time Tribe looked far more dominant and butchered a penalty and a couple of the best chances all game with Verwilst. In many ways I thought it would have been hard on naph going down 1 - 0 in regulation time because your attack seemed to die down a bit in the 2nd half where as Tribe's got stronger.

In extra time you got smashed as a result of the red card you gave away towards the end of the 2nd half.

In fairness, I think Tribe were the better side particularly after the first 45 minutes. The fact it was a 90th minute goal might be annoying but hey look at what you did to Roar last week, if i remember correctly you went the length of the field to score the winner which seemed like it took 2-3 minutes to play out the last minute and that included a free kick which found the back of the net.

Still a tremendous effort to get this far, but I think overall the result is fair, maybe one goal margin too high but that's mainly from Tribe having the right wing to themselves for the entire extra time period.


Congrats Naph, finally got the Australia Cup after a lot of semi final exits. You were probably about ready to blast Verwilst when he got the equalizer to send it to extra time ;).

Was a good final to watch, both sides playing quite well, was more or less from my watching of it a game of 2 halves until extra time.
