Subject: [U21] Charles_Kurz

So much time dedicated to selection. This is not fair.

WTF?! New U21 Coach for Belgie U21?

That was very weird! Charles Kurz should have finished his work! I don't get it. Above all, the other person who won the election did not have to come forward. That was disrespectful.

@Charles
I'm sorry for you! I would have been looking forward to a duel in the World Cup! Now you can give me tips on how to beat Belgium :P

Stop complaining.
It is what it is, give Muchacho the chance he deserves!
That's life.

Jezus Christ.. :) Someone needs to tell me what the added value is of informing someone upfront that you will participate to elections :) Charles saw my name in the list and my topic on the forum. He knew I signed in.

I'm not complaining, but point out that it's inappropriate not to choose a manager once he has mastered the qualification. Especially if he has already prepared for the new season (he also has by using younger players). It's not about giving el muchacho a chance!

In any case a very controversial handling ;)

Charles did a great job and achieved great results. But this victory from Muchacho over Charles is not controversially at all.
It might be a pity that Charles didn't get the chance to finish it, but that's all. If you sign in for a NT abroad you know it's out of your hands to ensure the position. At any time, new managers can apply for the job. If this ain't fair, than the elections should be made 2-seasonal... It isn't, so the result is fair. Above all, an NT-job should not be about personal achievements, though it's nice to be able to achieve some results. But it's for the benefit of the team. And Charles and his crew did a great job on that matter.
For what it's worth, I think you're a great manager Charles and if Muchacho didn't sign up for the job, you would have continued your job as U21-manager for sure! Take this experience with you and use it in your next project. I'm sure you can achieve great things again. Pity to see you leave now, but that's life. You win some, you lose some...
Good luck and thanks again for the great work!

I have no more words. Thanks and good luck to el_muchacho.

From my point of view the choice of Belgian community is very controversial (which means that it attracts attention and gives rise to public disagreement - do you think, Dtox9, that it is not the case?).

Winning the elections before WCQ does not guarantee winning the elections before WC. Sometimes the coach has bad results, sometimes his relations with a significant part of the community are bad. But if everything is alright, community should trust the coach they elected and the coach should trust the community. Among other things proven coach should be allowed to finish his job. If he is not allowed to continue after successful qualification and there is no serious reason behind, the trust is gone.

Now tell me. Why should any experienced foreign coach (if he knows what happened to Charles) run in the future elections here? I do not want to question anyone's morality, I merely state that I find the lack of respect for Charles' work quite disturbing.
2018-04-02 23:43:34
Indeed that is not the case...
This is diplomacy.
Why would there be an election round if it's not fair to apply?
And for a fact, no one disrespects Charles work here... don't turn this the other way around.
The only thing that was unlucky for Charles is the timing.
el_muchacho now had the opportunity and the motivation and time to apply for the job.

Please read my post once again.

1) Controversial is not synonym to wrong. It just means that something unusual happened and that many people disagree with it.
2) I was not judging the fairness (I explicitly said I do not want to question anyone's morality).
3) Ok, it seems your way of showing respect for others' work is different than mine. Even if I were Belgian and decided to vote for el_muchacho, I would at least declare it publicly and tell why. How many of you did so? From my point of view, this is the minimum you could have done for Charles. Then he would have a chance to discuss it with you and he would either convince you to change your mind or not.

I voted for Charles as I was happy with his job. And yes, he should have finished his job at the world cup in my opinion. But Sokker gives us the right to elect someone else and there's nothing preventing Muchacho from candidating.
And in a fair election Belgian community decided to put their faith in Muchacho. There is no need to blame him or our community for this result. Even though in some eyes it looks like a dirty trick.
2018-04-03 01:51:52
Honestly? I felt betrayed. If it was the desire of the community, the least I would like to hear was that they preferred the change, so I would not waste my time in the election. I was completely taken aback by everything and felt disrespected by everything I dedicated myself to the community. The least I expected was for them to be honest with me.

It may sound like crying, but what happened was not cool after all I tried to do practically alone for the community.

Only what I can wish is success for the community and say goodbye. Thanks to everyone who participated and supported me in this trajectory.
2018-04-03 01:55:07
Even if there was no need to blame him or your community, there was certainly need to discuss it. Thoroughly. :)

P.S.: Elections used to be the last regular event that could spark interesting discussions about tactics and management of NT. But even elections have become too quiet. Lack of ambitions, lack of effort, lack of communication...

Finally some activity on the forum!
2018-04-04 23:02:11
totally agree.
@Charles: I can totally understand, but apparently the major part of our community does see things different than most (older) users do.
