Greetings SK Community in Österreich! - Newsletter Introduction
Today marks the beginning of my work on the Newsletter — a space where I’ll keep you updated on everything important happening around our national team.
First of all, I would like to sincerely thank you for the trust you’ve placed in me and for choosing me as the head coach. It’s a true honor and privilege to lead this team and this community. I’ll do my best to live up to your expectations and to represent our colors with pride and passion.
I also want to apologize for the delay in starting this Newsletter. Over the past few weeks, professional and family matters required my full attention, and I had to temporarily put this project on hold. But now everything is back on track, and I’m excited to begin!
In the upcoming editions, you can expect regular updates, insights, and behind-the-scenes stories about our national team — as well as commentary on current events, and upcoming matches. My goal is to bring you closer to the heart of the team and keep our community informed, united, and inspired.
I warmly encourage you to take part in the discussion, share your thoughts, and comment on the latest news. After all, you are the ones who make up this community and give strength and spirit to our national team!
If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to reach out!

Österreich Triumphs 3–0 Over Norway in Confident Display
Week 08: Österreich - Norge – 3:0 (1:0)
Stadium: Österreich Arena, Attendance: 12395
Starting XI – Österreich
GK: Ulrich Lamotte
DEF: Volker Gottlieb, Ignaz Deiss, Cornelius Funken, Mario Kaiser, Reiner Doppler
MID: Cosimo Riss, Edgar Schaumberger, Dagobert Reinke
ATT: Marius Deis, Albrecht Kaser
Substitutes:
Kuno Klingelman (60'), Moritz Peter (66'), Jan Prohaska (66'), Hans Jäger (70')
Match Highlights:
Saturday morning at the Österreich Arena saw 12,395 fans gather under light drizzle and moderate cloud cover to witness a commanding Österreich performance. Despite missing key forwards Sigbert Panenka and Gisbert Woyzeck through injury, the home side showed depth and determination, defeating Norway 3–0 (1–0) in the second group stage of the Euro qualifiers.
Österreich struck early when Marius Deis netted in the 10th minute, setting the tone for a disciplined match. The first half remained balanced, with both teams contesting fiercely in midfield but failing to create many clear chances. Solid defending by Ignaz Deiss ensured Österreich maintained control.
Early in the second half, Deis scored again in the 49th minute, extending the lead and putting Österreich firmly in command. Substitute Kuno Klingelman, introduced on the hour mark, sealed the victory with a composed finish in the 69th minute.
There were no yellow or red cards, and no injuries were reported during the match — a testament to both teams’ fair play.
Österreich’s overall performance rating stood at 78.9, reflecting a well-organized and confident display. Among the standout players were Marius Deis, who claimed two goals, Cornelius Funken, who controlled the defensive line with poise, and Ignaz Deiss, a reliable presence in the back.
General Comment:
It was a solid and efficient performance from Österreich, showing the squad’s growing cohesion despite missing key attacker. The team’s ability to finish their chances proved decisive in a tightly contested midfield battle.
Coach and fans alike will be pleased not only with the clean sheet but also with how effectively the substitutes contributed — particularly Klingelman’s goal. With this win, Österreich takes first place in the group with 3 points, giving them a strong foundation in their pursuit of qualification for the Euro knockout phase.
The next challenge awaits in the group stage against Severna Makedonija, where Österreich will look to maintain momentum and further strengthen their path to the finals.
