Good job! Sadly I don't get new promising youngsters lately.

Indeed, the 21-year-olds are at a higher level than the current 20-year-olds. It's up to you to coach them as best as possible. We're still a strong national team, and we hope to see some notable youth players emerge this season.

Norway U21 – Estonia U21 1:4

A bit of drizzle, 9,000 fans in the stands, and the perfect weather for a Baltic goal party!
Our Estonian U21 boys enjoyed themselves at the Dala-Fram 88 Arena, handing Norway a solid 4–1 defeat in a friendly that looked more like a lesson in efficiency and teamwork.

We struck first in the 12th minute — who else but Sungisepp opening the score with one of his trademark rockets. Norway managed to equalize soon after, but from then on, it was all Estonia.

In the second half, the “magic bench” took over:

Männimets made it 1–2 with a cool finish,

Raasalu added another just a minute later,

and in the 88th minute, Männimets sealed the game with his brace.

Final score: 1–4 and applause even from the home fans, who recognized the better side.
Solid defense, disciplined midfield, and a sharp attack — a winning mix, even under Norwegian rain.

Forum comment:

“If this was just a friendly rehearsal, the Estonian band already sounds in tune!
Männimets with a brace, Raasalu on target, and Sungisepp keeping his captain’s legend alive — The Captain Never Sleeps! ”

eesti 1-4 Sveringe

Coach’s Statements (José Mourinho edition)

“I am very proud of my players. Yes, you heard me right: proud. Because to play a match like this, under certain conditions, you need to be strong. And when I say conditions… I’m not talking about the heat, I’m not talking about the scattered clouds. I’m talking about other things.

Sweden? A great team, nothing to say. But four shots, four goals… I won’t comment. I don’t criticise anyone. You are intelligent, you watched the match. I cannot speak, because if I speak… I’m suspended for six months.

Our consolation goal? Fully deserved. Deserved just like the respect this team should have. We hit the crossbar three times, we created chances, we dominated certain phases. Did they have luck? I don’t know. I only say that anyone who watched the match doesn’t need my words.

Qualification becoming difficult? But we are used to climbing mountains. If the road were straight, smooth, and seaside… it wouldn’t be for us. We enjoy it when everyone says it’s impossible.

And now? Now we go back to work. Because we are not a team that cries. We are a team that reacts. And when we react… someone might have a problem.

Thank you.”

Jamaica U21 – Estonia U21 0:7
When reggae meets Estonian steel… and quickly backs away

At the Jamaica U21 Arena, in front of nearly 47,000 spectators, Estonia U21 delivered a masterclass. Jamaica held plenty of field zones but created as much danger as a sleeping kitten: zero shots. Estonia, on the other hand, treated the pitch like their personal training ground — crossing, shooting, hitting posts, and scoring repeatedly.

Key Moments

12’ — Männimets opens the scoring with a cannon shot that sends Fuller diving into nothingness.

31’ — Rätsepp doubles the lead with a powerful strike Fuller can only wave at.

43’ — Sungisepp shoots, Fuller spills it, Kelly hits the post, and then the ball ends up in the net. Call it what you want: it’s 0–3.

After halftime Jamaica makes three substitutions. Estonia changes only the pace of scoring:

52’ — Sungisepp makes it four.

57’ — Männimets scores again with a diving header worthy of a highlight reel.

67’ — Rätsepp gets his brace.

68’ — Raasalu blasts in the seventh while Fuller is left grasping at air.

Match Stats

Shots: Jamaica 0 – Estonia 23

Goals: 0–7

Fouls: none — the referee had a very calm afternoon.

Posts and Crossbars Hit by Estonia: enough to build a small wooden cabin.

Summary

Estonia U21 delivered a dominant, confident, and entertaining performance from start to finish. Jamaica U21 fought hard but never managed to trouble the Estonian defense or goalkeeper. A solid, convincing win that speaks for itself.

Estonia U21 – Cyprus U21 4–2

The match against Cyprus started like an action movie and ended like a light-hearted comedy. In front of 60,000 fans, Estonia U21 delivered a first half so lively that the crowd could have watched it with popcorn in hand.

After just four minutes, a chaotic sequence between Sungisepp and Kose completely confused the Cypriot keeper, who mishit the ball as if it were still hot from the oven. Rätsepp took advantage, though the final touch came courtesy of Frangkou… into his own net. Estonia up 1–0.

Three minutes later, Kose decided it was his time to shine: a delicate lob, a defender unsure whether to stop the ball or politely greet it, and Sungisepp arriving to smash in a thunderbolt for 2–0. No need for umbrellas—goals were raining down.

Cyprus tried to react in the 20th minute through Yiangoulis, their liveliest player: a feint, a shot, a crossbar, and the ball flying back out as Ülem cleared it like a problem he didn’t want to deal with.

But then Estonia restarted their goal festival. In the 29th minute, Rätsepp fired a missile into the top corner, and at the 34th he struck again after a beautiful first-touch pass from Kose. At that point it was 4–0, and the Cypriots stared at the scoreboard as though it were a quiz where every answer was wrong.

After halftime, Estonia slowed down a bit, while Cyprus finally showed some pride. In the 72nd minute, Yiangoulis—again him—scored with a powerful strike for 4–1. He nearly doubled his tally in the 82nd, when a clumsy rebound by Ülem almost gifted him another chance.

In the 87th, the tireless Yiangoulis did get his second: a driven shot, Ülem late to reach it, and 4–2. A busier ending than expected, but the match had already been shaped by Estonia’s brilliant first half.

In short, it was an entertaining game full of action, a few scares, and plenty of twists, with a bright Estonia U21 side and a Cyprus team that kept fighting but was forced to chase from start to finish.

6 - 0 Against Latvia! :) Great!

Unfortunately, Sweden drew 1-1 with Brazil in a match where Brazil had 20 shots, condemning us to third place. We need a miracle against Brazil on Saturday. I'm speechless.

Estonia U21 – Latvia U21 6:0
“Rain outside, goals raining inside” – Chronicles of the Estonian storm

At the Eesti U21 Arena it wasn’t just raining – it was pouring. Dark clouds, heavy rain, 52,188 drenched spectators… and six goals that warmed everyone up instantly.

Latvia arrived serious and organized, with solid tactics and tidy defense.
Estonia arrived with cold hands, nervous energy, and one clear mission: break Groza’s goal apart.
Mission accomplished.

First half: the storm begins

14’ – Männimets unleashes the Baltic roar
Uustal stumbles, recovers, passes.
Männimets controls and fires a rocket.
Groza dives but misses it by a hair.
1–0.
The crowd roars. Even the rain applauds.

24’ – Latvia tries to strike back
Sink uses a hand → yellow card.
Dangerous free-kick, huge chance… wasted.
It’s their best moment.
It’s also their last.

28’ – International Goalkeeping Blunder™
A chaotic action full of chips, rebounds, tackles, and balls flying like seagulls in Tallinn.
In the end: the Latvian goalkeeper switches to “butter-hands mode”.
The ball bounces into the net.
Estonia leaves for halftime smiling.

Halftime notes:
Slight advantage in possession for Estonia, territory for Latvia…
but football rewards goals, not geography.
And today Estonia had Robin Hood’s aim and a hungry bear’s aggression.

Second half: the perfect storm

47’ – Männimets again: 2–0
Cross, fake, shot, rebound…
Kose sends in a perfect ball and Männimets heads it home.
Goal, 2–0.

54’ – Rätsepp makes it 3–0
A soft chip, almost poetic.
Latvian defense frozen.
Goalkeeper confused.
3–0.

61’ – Männimets scores the 4–0
Long throw, Uustal, a deep pass, the keeper completely mishits it…
Männimets arrives and blasts it in.
Latvia broken. Estonia euphoric.

73’ – Rätsepp again: 5–0
A thunderous shot. Groza flies, but not high enough.
This isn’t a match anymore – it’s an avalanche.

83’ – Kose closes the set: 6–0
Shot off the post… and in!
Groza watches the ball like someone watching a train leave while still standing on the platform.
6–0.

Even the rain seems to retreat out of respect.

Final thoughts: “Yes, we made noise.”

Despite Latvia spending more time in Estonia’s half, every Estonian attack felt like a decisive strike.
Team rating: 55 vs. 43.7.
Clinical finishing.
Solid defense.
An explosive attack.

And now… Brazil.

Next week comes the decisive clash against mighty Brazil.
The situation is clear:

If we don’t lose, we qualify for the Cup.

If we do lose… we suddenly become passionate supporters of Cyprus, who must stop Sweden.

In short:
either we stop the green-and-yellow giant,
or we learn to cheer for Cyprus for 90 minutes.

Hopefully Cyprus will do its magic against Sweds ;) Do your best, it's not really up to you if Brazil draws against way weaker opponent in a red card game for Sweden, good luck and keep heads up and give your best, it's not over yet.
2025-12-09 20:11:35
I've definitely already prepared the lineup. Cyprus is a very tough team, it's not easy. In any case, they were really lucky; Brazil had 20 shots and they tied the game. I'd be really disappointed not to be able to go to the World Cup. Fingers crossed.

Estonia U21 make history in Brazil: mission accomplished

Yes, it’s official: mission accomplished.
In the tropical heat of the Fenda do Biquini, under scattered clouds and in front of 59,999 Brazilian fans, our Estonia U21 delivered one of the most important performances in its Sokker history.

The match: courage, discipline, and personality

The scenario was clear before kick-off: Sweden’s defeat had already guaranteed our qualification for the U21 World Cup, but a win in Brazil would have meant first place in the group, ahead of the mighty hosts.

Brazil started with their usual dominance, but Estonia stood tall.
51% possession for Estonia, more shots (8 vs 4), and a calm, mature approach against one of the strongest U21 teams in the game.

The turning point came in the 24th minute:
Leme went in brutally, stamped on an Estonian leg and received a straight red card. Brazil were down to ten men, and from that moment on, the match changed.

Estonia absorbed the pressure, created chances with Ameli, and went into halftime at 0–0, earning applause from a stadium that had learned to respect the visitors.

Second half: blow for blow

In the 48th minute, Brazil struck first. Nonato finished a fast move, Ülem nearly saved it, but it was 1–0.

Estonia’s reaction was immediate and fearless.
In the 55th minute, after a chaotic sequence in the box, Sungisepp unleashed a thunderous shot into the net.
1–1. Silence in the stands, belief on the Estonian bench.

The final phase was intense:

Rätsepp missed the target by centimeters

Sungisepp and Männimets forced two excellent saves from Fonseca

Brazil were relieved to hear the final whistle

Final result

Brazil U21 – Estonia U21 1:1

Not first in the group, but qualified for the U21 World Cup.
After a demanding group with ups and downs, Estonia delivered when it mattered most.
