is tech important for a defender or is passing more important...?

or should i concentrate on pace and defending...?

i would say in this order:
def- to get the ball obviously
pace-to get to the ball holder
tech- to avoid bad touches where many breakaways happens bc of that.
playmaking-to get rid of the ball fast enough
passing- not that important i think. have a def with outstanding passing, ball still ends up in the stands quite often

i usually concentrate on the first two plus either tech or passing...but no matter how much passing i have they always kick it into the stands... :(

thats my point, tech is more useful to trap the damn ball

well, PM can influence where the ball goes as well (bad choices), so i think it is a combination of PM and passing.


I will go TEC after PACE and DEF, just becasue those bad ball control annoy me when it happens. For what i see, the more the better, but with Excellent/formidable TEC a Defender should be all right

Obviously I would prefer to have a guy with more defense, but this guy is pulling 50+ ratings as a defender.

Same pm, but much better defending. Perhaps the ratings aren't as accurate or something?

Whats the form like on the both of them?

Well right now they are not close in form. The first player is in unearthly form, and the second is in very good form.

However, the first player pulled his first 50 as a defender on 2/9, andhis form was only excellent. the second player has been in top form before (divine on 1/5), and has still never hit 50.

Where in your defense are you playing these guys? The first guy looks like he would make a great winger hugging that sideline, and the second guy seems like he would shore up the defensive mid position.

You know what the dumbest thing is?..... i have a player who has been in Unearthly/Divine form for all season and he hasn't played a single game in the last 5 weeks. On the flipside there's this one moron who's has been in tragic form since the mid of last season and he's played every single week.

right... it's the one thing that bugs me the most about sokker. one of my trainees has been hovering around tragic for the past 8 weeks and has been flat lining on tragic for the past 6 weeks. he finally rose up to hopeless after not playing in this weeks league match. and this is a player who i've had for a while and who used to be around unearthly form earlier. after like 7/8 pops his value is still relatively the same compared to when his form was high. ???

i don't see why they have to make it such a wildcard. it should coincide with how much playing time a player has gotten.

I think the most important skills for a defender depend on his role. I use my wingbacks primarily to support the midfield, because I normally only play with 3 midfielders, so my wingbacks look a lot more like midfielders than defenders. I would say, a sweeper you would primarily focus on tech, defense, and pace, since he's the last man between the attacker and the goal, but anyone you want to be feeding balls to the midfield and attackers needs pm and passing.
