Hey, I'm not sure about it, but I'm not new to Sokker, so I thought I'd post it here, But does automatic promotion affect Division 2 as well?
I would highly hope so, because I am top of Division 2 at the moment and don't want another Play Off like last season, which got me relegated.

Yes, the top 25% in div 2 will be auto promoted to div 1 :)
If you think you can win the playoff, then its extra training and income!!
But then again, some of the teams in league 1 & 2 are so bad, you can't even lose to them if you try.
