Subject: International Friendlies

Oh, sure. And I guess Argentina should be World Champion, as we defeated Spain 4-1 in a friendly, right? Or should Portugal (4-0 vs Spain) be? Ah, but we won against Portugal in another friendly, si it must be us. You know, Spain just got lucky with the draw...

Be serious, man, first get in a World Cup to begiin with, and then we can discuss who should end in which position. You're free to feel happy about winning a semi-Anctartic friendly match, I would be too if my team defeated the 4th top team in the world, but don't disrespect a team that has achieved far more than most teams in the planet, both in history and in the present.

EDIT: Actually, the message is only partially to Vilpu, but is also addressed to Visconte and Ice-T :)

I think you too my posts too seriously, never do that mistake again. And you even can`t imagine how respectful we estonians are against Uruguay. I have read many comments on that game and no one is bragging or is snobby.

As Forlan or head coach said, the conditions were same to both teams and this time better team won. Usually after such loss losing side starts to complain about everything.

That pic shows the best bit of the game, like Forlan walked on ice for the first time. I just laughed for a minute when i saw that live :)

Oi, welsh lads, you lose your voices like the rest of wales after booing our national anthem?
30 seconds of booing and 90 minutes of deathening silence, if it wasnt for the English fans you'd have been mistaken for thinking it was at old trafford. Good result as well, GSTQ.

No need to kick them when they are down.
2011-03-27 16:49:42
well, the bosnian guys did the same last night...

There's every need :D

Being part English myself (and also someone who believes in sportsmanship and respect) I find that the people booing the national anthems of other countries are not real fans, but a disgrace. It boils my blood to see cheating of any kind, and I am always ready to admit if my team cheats, but also believing in respect, I find these people childish and stupid. There is a word for those people:
*********

oh and I didn't for one minute think we would win :)

Hmm, that match wasn't a friendly, it was a qualification match, wasn't it?
2011-03-27 18:11:30
plus it was partly 2nd team, especially in attack - no Suarez, no Cavani...

Vilpu, my friend, taking you seriously is a mistake I'll never make :D

Jokes aside, is good to know that, in gneneral, there was no overstating nor whining ;)
I just felt like saying something about Uruguay having "lucky draws" or things like that :P

Last few winters in Estonia have been pretty crazy. Lot of snow I mean. It´s almost April and when I look out from a window, then believe it or not, it´s snowing. During the last night at least 10cm of snow came down. It´s pretty difficult to keep our pitches in a perfect condition. You need a lot of money for that and our football federation don`t have it enough to have a perfect pitch. Tomorrow we are going to play home against Serbia, who we beat in away match 3:1. That was a real shocker.

Talking about Uruguay lucky draw. Extremely unimportant fact imo. Luck has a huge role in sports. Doesn`t really matter for me. Bad teams don`t make it semis in world cup. One of our players said that Forlan looked like a average person, friendly, not a star.

Few days ago I read a news, that Argentina wanted to play against us in Estonia, but we refused:) The reason is the schedule of European Champs qualification matches. And your team would have come with B-team.

:)

Estonia has grown very much:)

Although I did say pitch conditions were extreme (and they were), you won't hear me complain about it: because it costs money you may or may not have, because it's the same for both teams, and, if there's any advantage to the home team, is their right to have it in their home match. Just as I support Bolivia playing in La Paz, regardless of the 6-1 defeats we may suffer :P

I didn't know about Serbia, though. Being an official match, it doesn't seem a score to be overlooked. It seems that group C standings are far from settled, specially 2nd place!

Still, the weather sometimes makes it a joke, not a football game. It doesn't favour anyone, it just makes the whole game a luck contest. Like Lech vs Juve, or a game 2 weeks ago in Poland.

You can play such games after school, but not in professional competitions...

Belgium - Netherlands 4-2

Very interesting game to watch, attractive football from both sides (although defense was not always that good).
