NT-candidature Fanakick

Hello everyone
I’m Fana, a 26 year old living and studying in Switzerland. My hobbies aside from Sokker include RL football and reading. I’ve been playing Sokker for almost 10 years. After a long period in Armenia I decided now to run for the coach position here in Bosnia.

Why Bosnia?
Bosnia has been a major force in Sokker for a long time. I remember when I played (and lost to) this team with Switzerland long time ago. Lately, a great team has grown with hitting marks more than 80. Yet the national team has failed to convert its potential to appropriate results. Bosnia missed the last three World Cups. I haven’t followed to team closely enough to analyse the reasons for this. But I strongly believe that Bosnia should go to the next World Cup and that I am capable of leading the team towards there.

My experience
In total I can count over 10 seasons as National Team Coach. I started my NT career back in Switzerland. Looking back I lacked the experience of high level players in this time. Still I managed to qualify Schweiz to the World Cup as group winner. Unfortunately, at the WC we dropped out against the later finalists Eesti and Slovensko. I continued a bit later at the small NT of Shqipëria, sensationally qualifying this team for the World Cup as well, for the first (and probably last) time in ist history. My longest NT engagement has been in Hayastan, for the last seven seasons. I took over a team ranked in the 60s and gradually manage to improve it and bring it to the top 30 of the world, culminating in the qualification for the World Cup and advancing to the 1/8-finals there.
A detailed match overview of my NT career can be found here

What you can expect

Communication
I like to do a quick review after the NT games, sharing my opinion about the match. When people are interested, I might also do short previews. If there is an active association, I’m happy to facilitate discussions there, concerning tactics or the squad. In Switzerland I interacted a lot, in Albania and Armenia I worked with rather quiet communities, so I’m used to both ways.

Scouting
Having the best possible players is the base of success. This means also to keep track of younger players, e.g. former U21s. In my previous two NTs, I did scouting and DB management on my own. Depending on how the scouting is organised here in Bosnia I will involve myself as well or let the scouts do their work. Guaranteed will be a transfer list scanning to catch any possible players on TL. I also have open ears for questions about training of future NT players.

Tactics
Tactics are a key for a successful team. Especially at NT level, when player skills are similar. Over the past seasons, I developed a set of decent working tactics that proved to be successful at NT level. My philosophy is to focus on the strength of the own team, to have several tactics (4 or 5 defs, wing or not, etc.) with similar basic structure available, in which details can be adapted to the opponent if necessary. Take a look at the Armenian matches of the past two seasons to get an idea of it.

My goals
Obviously, the first aim is to qualify Bosnia for the World Cup. Being in the second pot, this must be realistic. It will be important to get to know the squad as quickly as possible. I can say more about this when the WCQ groups are drawn this Saturday. As a longterm goal, I always have the NT ranking in mind. Advancing to the top 16 could be possible within 2 seasons. This means a carefully planned friendly schedule. Specifically during WCQ, I also like to do U26/U27 matches to give the best players a break and reward the trainers of the future NT players.

So, this is about it from my side. If you have any questions, feel free to ask! Otherwise, your chance to vote for me is here! :)

I've got at least one vote already, so thanks for that ;)

This is our WCQ group:

1. Deutschland 0 0 0 0 0-0 0
2. Bosna i Hercegovina 0 0 0 0 0-0 0
3. Canada 0 0 0 0 0-0 0
4. Indonesia 0 0 0 0 0-0 0
5. Costa Rica 0 0 0 0 0-0 0
6. Al Maghrib 0 0 0 0 0-0 0
7. U.A.E. 0 0 0 0 0-0 0

Germany is obviously the favourite with the best team. I don't know the coach being elected there too well, but certainly Bosnia doesn't have to hide.
Canada beat Bosnia twice in the last qualifier and went to World Cup instead. Should not happen again, although they have a respectable team. Always a dangerous opponent to watch out for.
Indonesia is one of the stronges uprising nations lately. I think though that they have not yet enough strength to really compete for one of the first two spots. Can easily cause an upset if one is not careful, similar to India last time.
Costa Rica is similar to Indonesia, maybe slightly weaker, but with an experienced coach. No trash opponent, but should be beaten twice with adequate performance.
Morocco is an ok team that will probably give the top nations a good fight, however I don't think they'll really have a chance against the best teams. Maybe they can get some points from Indonesia or Costa Rica.
U.A.E. I played last qualifiers with Hayastan. They finished the group with 0 points and 5-84 goals and I guess it won't look much different this time.

A group with 7 teams is always more interesting I think, and it usually offers a better WC pot in case of qualifying. I'd be happy to take on this challenge if you give me the chance. :) You can vote here.

I know it's hard for me to stand a chance against the local managers. However, if you're not satisfied with the last couple of seasons (and you shouldn't be), then I offer an alternative. With fresh ideas, determination and a professional attitude. Choice is yours! :)

Thanks to those 5 people who voted for me! Not much was missing. Maybe I will come back in a season or two.
